Plot
The plot of the movie revolves around a boy with super-imaginative powers. He tries to unravel the mystery of a murder that he “witnessed” and find out the killer by solving the case. Meanwhile, his half-sister is informed of his unnatural behaviour. Her bland life as a police officer in a small town is suddenly filled with busy days as she tries to find clues that resonate with her half-brother’s claims. Nick’s unusual power of imagination tricks him from time to time, making it difficult for him to navigate through his mission of unveiling the supposed murderer.
Star Performance
The performance of the actors in the movie is sub-par at best. The character portrayal is pretty dull and viewers might get confused about whether the main character is Nick or his half-sister, Margret. The film barely has any interesting character arc, making the roles very flat and uninteresting.
Analysis
The movie tries too hard to focus on multiple plot lines. It includes complex family relationships, murder mysteries, detective work, hyper-imagination, and a tinge of vampirism. The movie moves forth very slowly, leading to a loss of interest from the viewers. The stiff performance by the actors weighs down the potential of the movie. The director has done a passable job but fails to explore the different possibilities offered by the setting of the location. The movie has a plot that can surely make the audience dizzy with confusion. Unfortunately it ends up being a mess by the end due to the loose threads of other unexploited sub-plots. Still, the movie can be a good choice for people who crave odd stories and strange characters.

Verdict
Overall, Nick is a movie just enough to hold the attention of the audience. The movie has ample twists and turns but lacks the organisation. The sequence seems patchy and thus, some viewers may feel confused about how the plot pans out. But, this confusion itself might be the one thing that some people find intriguing. The background music does a substantial job of keeping the mood of the movie dense and sinister. As the movie’s plot goes back and forth through Nick’s weird imagination, the suspenseful and intense atmosphere of the movie is maintained till the end. Even though the movie lacks good direction and coherence, it is still quirky enough to watch.
