Star Performances

No one would believe that this is only the first film of Mike as a director!
Analysis
An action-adventure comedy, that too in silent mode? Not many would opt for such an adventurous project, especially when it’s your first such film!
However, Mike Cheslik had other ideas. He also found an enthusiastic backer in Ryland Brickson Cole Tews. He not only financed this project but also made the bold attempt to act as the main lead.
This is not just any other adventure comedy; it is an ode to cinema at its purest. The way this film has integrated the silent mode of narration with humor is phenomenal. The cartoonish touch is far from jarring, it is the USP of this film! You will be reminded of those wacky cartoons that made your childhood memorable, and it is this very approach of Mike Cheslik that makes ‘Hundreds of Beavers’ special!
The effects are rudimentary, but even those make you smile instead of frown. As said in ‘Schindler’s List,’ “…...I see that it had a certain panache. That’s what I’m good at. Not the work, not the work, the presentation!”
Despite a runtime of more than 1 hour and 48 minutes, none would feel bored. The acting performances from the ensemble cast are also outstanding. Special mention to Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, who not only justifies his presence as the main lead but also leaves a solid impression on the audience as well. The supporting cast has been equally good, with Doug Mancheski marking an impact of his own.

Verdict
‘Hundreds of Beavers’ is a wacky silent comedy that none expected. However, debutante directors Mike Cheslik and Ryland Brickson ensure with their maverick script that it is nothing less than an unforgettable experience! Do not miss this at all!
