Plot

Following a crazy night out in Las Vegas Las Vegas is an American comedy series that starte >> Read More... , Abby and Travis discover that they are newlyweds. To top it all, the duo is heading towards Mexico for a honeymoon, with their friends and family. Is this all for real, or there is more to the deal?

Star Performances

One must appreciate the lead duo of Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner for bearing with this joke of a film. Despite the ludicrous screenplay, the two attempted their best to look likable, and Dylan even tried to make the viewers laugh with his earnest efforts.

Analysis

Imagine if Mohit Suri Mohit Suri has directed many Indian movies mostly >> Read More... one day woke up, asked Chetan Bhagat Chetan Bhagat is a renowned Indian author who was >> Read More... to write a novel in 24 hours, and convert that to a film. Confused? Well, probably that is what the makers of ‘Beautiful Wedding’ must have thought so, since this is the adaptation of Jamie McGuire’s own literary sequel to ‘Beautiful Disaster.’

This film is literally a sequel nobody asked for. ‘Beautiful Disaster’ is a romantic comedy that was fun, light-hearted, and jolly good in spirit. But there was no need to make a sequel just for the sake of it. The initial concept of waking up as accidental newlyweds is not that bad, and in the beginning, it even looked good, thanks to some crisp camerawork.

However, as the film further progressed, we were soon introduced to a trainwreck of a narrative. Despite being slightly longer than an hour and a half, the film almost tested the patience of the viewers. Ironically, the sequel was directed by the same guy who gave a rather fun ride with the previous film! Some sequences popped out of nowhere, and some sequences almost tested the patience of the audience. If not for the acting efforts of a few, especially the lead pair, ‘Beautiful Wedding’ could have been very well an overstretched insurance commercial gone wrong!

What's There?

  • Only the acting performances of some, including the lead pair of Dylan and Virginia

What's Not There?

  • Bad adaptation of a not-so-great novel
  • Ludicrous narrative
  • Sequences that had no relevance to the screenplay at all
  • Underwhelming direction by Roger Kumble

Verdict

‘Beautiful Wedding’ is a sequel that none had asked for. What could have been an interesting sequel got ruined due to a confused narrative? Watch it only for the performances of Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner.
