Jagath Wickramasinghe is a musician in the Sinhala film industry. He was born on 10th April 1966 in Kolonnawa to LK Jinadasa Wickramasinghe and Aryawathi Chandralatha, music teachers. He went to Ashoka Kanishta Vidyalaya in Maradana and then Ananda College. When his parents were transferred to Anuradhapura, he studied at Anuradhapura Central College. He graduated in Civil Engineering. Jagath completed his Sangeeth Visharada Part 2 and Diploma in vocal music from Bathkande Institute Of Music in Lucknow, India. He passed his Prathama Examination Music in Tabla at Bathkande Institute Of Music. He also learned Western music from Trinity College of London. He married Gayani Prasangika Kohona and has a son and two daughters.

In the early 1990s, he was selected by SLBC as a music producer. He played instruments at the SLBC events also started composing his own music. He worked at the University Of Visual & Performing as a visiting lecturer. He also worked as a lecturer in the music department of the youth service council. He also worked for Sarvodaya Organization as a music consultant. Since 1991, he has toured various countries and performed music. Ran Tharakavan is his first solo song. In 1990, he represented Sri Lanka Abu at the Golden Kite World Song Festival held in Malaysia.

He worked on the TV dramas Prathiba, Shantha Me Ra Yame, Ridma Tharanga, Thani Tharuwe, and Nishanthaya. He composed music for Sthyadevi, Re Ru, Thunpath Rela, Bopath Ella, Bhawa Karma, Keetaya, Isuru Tharanaya, Pahe Kalliya, and Awasan Horaawa. In 1991, acted in TV dramas Kande Gedara, Shoba Saha Darshana, Doo Daruwo, Devi, Awasan Horawa, Piya Satahan, Shapa Nokaraw Daruwane, Soorya Sihinaya, Athugala Pamula, and Sasala Ruwa. From 1994 to 1996 he was awarded at the Sarasavi Film Festival. Jagath was invited to India to perform an opera, Siddartha, at the annual Sai Baba Festival. In 1995, Jagath was honoured with the Presidential Award as the Most Popular Pop Music Artist. At the Sumathi Awards, he received the Best Young Music Director and Best Teledrama Singer awards in 1998.
