Suraj Mapa is a well-known Sri Lankan actor, producer, Model, Dancer, and Choreographer in the Cinema and Television Industry. He was born on 2 January 1980 in Kandy, Sri Lanka, and completed his graduation from Trinity College, Kandy. Later, He earned a Diploma in Hotel Management and worked in his Father’s Hotel Zurich Park for one year. Further, he studied at IDM and got the Diploma in Computer Studies. He also worked as a Customer Care Executive in Suntel. Later, he gained a Marketing qualification from SLIM.

In 2000, He started his career in the Television serial Mage Sanda Oba. He appeared in many serials like Suriya Daruwo, Olu, Pooja, and Haara Kotiya Story soon >> Read More... . In 2004, Mapa began his career in film with the comedy film Clean Out, performing role as a supporting actor. He also appeared in films like Uththara, and Sikuru Hathe. He has also performed in the Belgium film Semi Tower. Along with Cinema and Television, he has acted in teledramas such as Sansara Sewanali - Podi Hamuduruwo, Thunkal Sihinaya and Matahka Sihina.

Mapa also excels in Latin American Dance and trained under Neomi Rajaratnam. He has performed at various events dancing like Footwork Dance Sport 2002, Maiden dance show Elements with Surya, and a Reality show Derana City of Dance. Suraj Dance Academy is the Institution in Colombo and Kandy where Mapa conducts workshops on dance. He learned the Kandyan dance from Guru Kulasiri Budawatta in 2013. Apart from this, he is also the Head of the Sales and marketing brand of Elsa Clothing.
