Sinhala Actor Sriyantha Mendis

Sriyantha Mendis was born on October 25, 1957, in Ragama, Sri Lanka, as the eldest child of a family of three. His father, Hiddadura Lazarus Mendis, worked as a timekeeper for the Ceylon Transport Board and later became the director of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. His mother, Eliadura Karoline Soyza, is a teacher at the Convent of the Holy Family and is also involved in music in Heywood. Mendis completed his education at De Mazenod College in Kandana. However, Mendis has an exceptional talent for karate and excels in it.

He started his teaching career at Pokuwagonna Maha Vidyalaya in Ganewatta, which was far away from Polgahawela in Kurunegala. On July 7, 1979, he became a science teacher at St. Bernadette College in Polgahavela. He later spent 32 years as a teacher in various schools on the island. Mendis also has a wife named Kusum Renu Dabare Kusum Renuka Liyanage, frequently known as >> Read More... , a well-known actor in Sinhala film, stage and television. He first met Renu on the sets of the play Pandukabhaya in 1984, and got married soon after. They have since then been blessed with 2 two daughters.
