Samantha Kumara Gamage was born and raised in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. He resided in Homagama. He completed his schooling at Niwanthaka Chethiya Maha Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura. Further he pursued degree at University of Sri Janardhanapuram. He is a director and a scriptwriter. He first came to be known as a character actor. He started his career when he was in school days. He worked in drama and television serials. He wrote and directed a stage play that won the award for the best stage play at the Sri Lanka School Drama Festival in 1996. He has written more than ten scripts. He was rewarded for the television drama Giridevi, he won the award for the best script writer. He is a hard-working and passionate person. He is kind-hearted and fun-loving.
