Malkith Singh is a well-known and respected Punjabi bhangra performer with an English base. He was born on September 13, 1962, in Hussainpur and grew up there. He completed his education at Lyallpur Khalasa College. In 1984, he relocated to Birmingham. He was the first vocalist from Punjab to get an MBE at Buckingham Palace from Queen Elizabeth II. The first album, "Nach Gidde Vich," was primarily an acoustic collection of folk songs from Punjab performed on the harmonium, tumbi, and dhol which became a new vocal sensation in the UK Bhangra music scene.

The songs "Gur Nalo Ishq Mitha," "Tootak Tootak Tootiyan," "Kurri Garam Jayee," "Dekh li villain," "Chal Hun," and "Jind Mahi" are among his most well-known compositions. Malkith Singh has made numerous appearances on Sikhism and Punjab-related Indian talk shows on MTV Channel, Channel V, and all Indian stations. With sales of more than 4.9 million recordings during his career, he was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful bhangra solo performer ever. At the time, Veer Rahimpuri's song "Tootak Tootak Tootiyan." which he sang, was the fastest-selling and most popular Bhangra single.

It was published alongside the 1990 Bhangra Indi-pop album Tootak Tootak Tootiyan, which set a record by selling 2.5 million copies. He has visited more than 20 countries and gained knowledge from every performance. In 2005, the UK Asian Music Awards presented Singh with the "Commitment to Scene" award. At the 2008 New Year's Honours, he was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
