Bhagwant Mann or Comedy King/Jugnu is a popular Indian comedian, actor and singer. He was born on October 17, 1973 in Satauj, Sangur District in Punjab. Bhagwant became popular for his skits in Punjabi language. He begins his career in comedy by joining the youth festivals and some competitions during college. He is a gold medalists in Shaheed Udham Singh Government College, Sunam; an affiliation of Punjabi University, Patiala. Bhagwant Mann is also a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha since May 2014, under the Sangur constituency.

The comedy that he portrays are usually about the Indian issues such as sports, policemen, politicians and more. He received praises and positive reviews after releasing his second comedy album, Kulfi Garma Garm. Bhagwant and Jagtar also created the show, Jugnu Kehnda Hai for Alpha ETC Punjabi channel. After a decade of working together, Jagtar suddenly felt that he did not received the credit that he deserved, so their duo has ended. In 2006, it has been reported that Bhagwant and Jaggi finally settled their differences and reunites. The two has done their stage play entitled, No Life With Wife and toured Canada and England to perform.

His appearance in the show gained him fame and widened the number of the audience who supported him. He was also seen in MH1’s Jugnu Hazir Hai and he was featured in the 2010 film, Sukhmani – Hope for Life by Manjit Mann. Bhagwant also acted in films like Kachehri and Tabaahi in 1994, Nain Preeto De in 1995, Sukha in 1996 and Sikandera in 2001. He also made an appearance in the Bollywood film, Apne in 2007. The brilliant actor also donned the role of Kewal in the Punjabi film, Ekam – Son of Soil in year 2010. Then he did films like Hero Hitler in Love in 2011, Kulfi Garma Garam, Moga to Melbourne Via Chandigarh and Police in Pollywood in 2014.

In 2011, Bhagwant entered the world of Punjab politics by being a member of the political party, People’s Party of Punjab, led by Manpreet Singh Badal. He was not successful in disputing the elections of the Lehragaga assembly constituency held at the Punjab Assembly Elections in 2012. In March 2014, he left the People’s Party of Punjab and stated that the reason is his union with the Congress and he joined the political party, Aam Aadmi Party, where he became the candidate at the Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency for the General Elections 2014. His current party wanted him to contend with the Chandigarh constituency but Bhagwant decline the offer and received a ticket to contend the polls in Sangrur. Luckily, he gained 200,000 votes and won the constituency seat at the General Election which set a record in Punjab since he beats Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa of SAD party. When he become the Member of Parliament, he constantly used Satire to lift the issues that common man are facing.

Bhagwant made the NGO Lok Lehar Foundation to assist the children that are affected from the malformations because of the polluted groundwater in some areas of Punjab.
