Amarendra Mohanty was a music composer and singer from India. He was born on February 16, 1958, in Kendrapara district, Odisha, India. He died on May 17, 2021, due to the COVID-19 virus. Amarendra began his career with Akashvani Cuttack. After that, he started singing for several films in Odia. Amarendra Mohanty made his debut as a music director in the Odia film Shradhanjali, released in 1993. His famous artwork includes films like Magunira Shagada, Suna Panjuri, Sarapancha Babu, Bhai Hela Bhagari, Stree, Kandhei Akhire Luha, and many others. He served in the Odia film industry for more than three decades. His contributions to the industry are so valuable that people still admire his artwork and remember him.
