Chandrsekhar Rath was a famous Indian writer who used to write in Odia. He was born in Malpada in the Balingar district on 17 October 1929. He completed his education in English at Canning College in Lucknow. He was a part of the Odisha Education Society in 1952 as an English educator. He was also the Secretary of the Text Book Bureau. He was to be awarded Padma Shri, but he could not receive it due to his death on 9 February 2018. Chandrasekhar Rath has written fourteen short stories, fifteen essay books, three novels, which are Yantrarudha, Asurya Upanivesh, and Nav Jatak, and devotional essays. He has been awarded many state and national awards.
