Miruna Lisara Magar is a renowned Nepali actress. She has been an ever-present face in Nepali households since her debut in the 2018 film Lalpurja. She was born to Shashi Thapa Subba, a famous actress of her era, and Dhan Magar, a soldier of The British Army’s Royal Gurkha Rifles. She was born in Hong Kong. The family returned to their hometown when the actress was two years old before migrating to London in 2008. She graduated in sociology from Brunel University, London. Acting has always been her passion. So, she decided to move back to Nepal to pursue her dream. This move proved to be beneficial for her. She had featured in multiple music videos, commercials and dance shows. She was slowly becoming a familiar face among the Nepali population, and she had her complete focus on acting. Later on, she joined Anup Baral’s acting studio. She took acting classes there. In a short period of three months, she got the opportunity to play a role in the play Kathadesh 3. Coincidently, the producers of the movie Lalpurja were present there. They recognized her talent and stage presence and spared no more time to give Miruna Lisara Magar the opportunity she sought.

After her debut, she became the talk of the town. She was known for her talent and hard work. Her film Kabaddi 4: The Final Match (2022) broke all the records and became the highest-grossing film. It started the trend of commercial blockbusters in the industry. She followed this up with her next blockbuster- Jaari (2023). She cemented her spot in the industry as a hitmaker and an exceptionally talented actress. She has starred in many other movies like Rose (2018), Saino (2019), Cha Cha Hui (2019), Nango Gau (2023), Rangeli (2024) and Mansarra (2024). In recognition of her talent, brilliant work, and contribution to the socio-cultural framework of the country, she got appointed as the brand ambassador for the 12th Nepal European Union Film Festival.
