Pema Dhondup is a Tibetan film director and actor. He was born in Tibet. Dhondup studied filmmaking at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. He did his graduation in marketing from Kurukshetra University in 1990 and started working for Sony India in the music division. After that, he started producing documentaries, commercial advertisements, and television series.
Pema Dhondup started his career in 2001 by directing the short film Echo. He along with his wife founded their company Clear Mirror Pictures in 2004. In 2017, Dhondup became a founding partner of TriCity Pictures. Dhondup made his directing debut with a Tibetan Drama We’re No Monks in 2004. In 2013, Dhondup directed a short film named Arise. He received the Best Director Award for his movie Arise. Dhondup has also portrayed a character in a popular video game named Uncharted.
