Amrita Acharia, an actress with British Nationality, was born on 31st July 1987 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her roots are in Nepal and Ukraine. Her father is a Nepali, and her mother is a Ukrainian. Amrita’s father is a gynecologist, and her mom is an architect. Amrita grew in various places, including Nepal, Ukraine, England, and Norway. Until seven, she was in Nepal, and as her father had to move to England, they shifted there. She did her schooling in Norway and moved back to England to pursue acting. Amrita is an alumnus of the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts – ALRA in England. Amrita made her acting debut in 2010 in a short film, In Company of Wolves, and then in Collectables. In the same year, she played in the TV series, Casualty. In 2011, she played in Doctors, Lapland, and Game of Thrones. After playing in Game of Thrones as Irri, she turned famous. In the same year, she played in the film, The Devil's Double, a multilingual movie in English, Belgian and Dutch.
In 2013, she played the lead role, Mina, in the Norwegian film I Am Yours that received critical acclaim. She also played Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, Camouflage, Amar Akbar & Tony, Arrivals, White Chamber, Genesis, and Welcome to Curiosity. In Welcome To Curiosity, she played the lead role. This is a crowd-funded film that raised £ 200000. Pen & Paper & Laser Guns, Acquitted, Red Dwarf, The Good Karma Hospital, Sibi and Dan and The Sister are some of her web series. The Good Karma Hospital was shot in Sri Lanka, and Amrita plays a doctor working in Kerala. Besides acting in TV series and movies, Amrita had also played in stage dramas. She was seen in Elevator, At The End of Everything Else, and The Chronicles of Kalki, the stage plays. Amrita is an ambassador for the charity Chora Chori that rescues the trafficked Nepalese children.
