Dalsukh M Pancholi

His father was a film distributor. Dalsukh M Pancholi started his career with his father from Lahore. He became the biggest importer of Hollywood films on the northwest side of India. He had also built the most prominent film studio in Lahore before the partition of India, known as “Pancholi Art Pictures.” Dalsukh started his career with small documentaries. Dalsukh then worked on Pancholi Art Pictures, in which the first movie was “Gul Bakawali” which was released in 1939.

The second movie was “Yamla Jat” in 1940. and the third film was “Chaudhary” in 1941, all were super hits. These three Punjabi films gave a lot of confidence to Dalsukh M Pancholi. Then he made a Hindi film, “Khazanchi,” with Punjabi music taste in it, which led to a great success film. He had everything in Lahore and began a fresh start in Bombay.

He created a new banner known as Pancholi Production, in which the first movie released was “Meena Baazar” in 1950. After that, movies like “Nagina,” “Aasman,” “Lutera,” and many more were released. “Farishta” was the last film of Pancholi Production. From 1954-55, Dalsukh M Pancholi was the President of IMPRA. He died on the 20 th of October 1959. He had contributed a lot to the Hindi and Punjabi film industries. Dalsukh was a man who never gave up.
