Butta Bomma, the remake of the Malayalam film Kappela is scripted by Ganesh Kumar Ravuri and directed by "Shourie Chandrasekhar T Ramesh." "Anikha" makes her debut as the leading lady in this film. The film also features Arjun Das, Surya Vasishta, and MD Irfan KF. Sai Soujanya and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi produced the film. Gopi Sundar composed the music. The cinematography department was taken care of by Patchipulusu Vamsi, and Navin Nooli handled the editing department.

Plot

Satya, the eldest in her family, lives in a village near Aakaru Valley. Mistakenly she dials a number, which is attended by Murali, an auto-rickshaw driver living in Vishakhapatnam. Soon, she falls in love with him and wants to meet him. Soon, she meets him at his place. Both are followed by Ramakrishna, aka RK. What's the relationship between RK, Satya, and Murali? Is he a savior or a destroyer? The rest of the film deals with this.

Star Performance

A couple of years back, we've seen Anikha as a child artist. She had always been good at minute expressions. Her eye expressions are one of the biggest pluses of her performance. She has shown a mature performance. She looked beautiful and did what was asked of her. Arjun Das looks stylish and impressive in his limited screen presence. Surya Vashista has performed well, and his chemistry with Anikha is good too.

Analysis

The director has done justice to the original and has not changed the script much, except for a few scenes to match the Telugu sensibilities. The main characters are perfectly made, and the stars are the right choice. The screenplay could've been better in the first half. But the dialogues are good and help certain scenes. The songs seem to have been forcedly inserted and are not very impressive, either. The visuals are cool. The BGM suits the story's mood well. The editing is okayish. The film has good production and technical values.

What's There?

  • Good performances and execution
  • Visuals and BGM are neat

What's Not There?

  • Songs are forcedly added
  • The screenplay could've been better

Verdict

Though the film has some lag in the first half, for the decent performances by the leads, we can watch Butta Bomma once!
