Don is a rom-com film scripted and directed by Cibi Chakravarthy. LYCA Productions bankrolled the movie. KM Bhaskaran cranked the camera, and Nagooran Ramachandran edited the film. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music. “Sivakarthikeyan,” Priyanka Arul Mohan, SJ Suryah, “Samuthirakani,” “Soori,” Radha Ravi, Munishkanth “Ramdoss,” Kaali Venkat, Bala Saravanan, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, RJ Vijay, “Manobala,” Aadhira Pandilakshmi, Raju Jeyamohan, Ranjith Ayyasamy, Wilfred Ryan, and Shariq Hassan are cast. Gautham Menon played a cameo role.
Chakravathi’s father is very strict. Chakravarthi is an engineering student. Boominathan, his faculty, is like Chakravarthi’s dad, who wants his students to be disciplined. Chakravarthi intends to earn a good name without studying. He is his college’s Don. He is in love with Angayarkanni. How Chakravarthi manages his dad, Boomi, and how he holds Angayarkanni’s hands are dealt with the rest of the story.
Sivakarthikeyan has done a good job, playing the comedy hero. Samuthirakani is good in his dad role, which is not a new role to him. SJ Surya is impressive as Boomi. He has been very picky nowadays and impresses the audience with his natural performances. His expressions are fantastic, and his body language too. Priyanka is good in the given role.
Cibi has come with a rom-com, Sivakarthikeyan’s cup of tea. Priyanka Arul Mohan joined Siva for the second time after Doctor, and their chemistry worked out well. Though Cibi tried to tell the love of the strict parents, it didn’t work out well as expected. Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga is one of the finest examples of that beautiful parental love. The songs are okayish, and the BGM too. The cinematographer and the editor made no mistakes.
What’s Not There?
If you are a Sivakarthikeyan fan, there is no doubt that you will like the film. In the general audience, some may like the dad-son portions, and some may not. However, the film is watchable once!
