Shayad is a 2017 Pakistani TV serial released on Geo TV, based on Faiza Iftikhar’s novel of the same name. Shayad is the second serial starring singer-turned-actor Uzir Jaswal. Shayad shows a love story featuring a one-sided love where Saad, a younger boy, falls in love with Umm-e-Hani (Hani), the older woman. Hani is an orphan who lives with Saad and his parents. Having lost her parents at a young age, Hani seeks security and stability to help her fulfil her wishes and support her in her endeavours. Saad, who falls for her, slips her radar as she thinks of him as boyish and immature. However, she soon comes across Salaar only to find him to fit her definition of the man of her dreams.

Hani’s life is shaken to its core when she ends up with the much older Salaar, instead of Saad who stays by her side regardless. The story progresses with the characters' expectations being subverted along the way, and long-term decisions yielding troubling results.
