Naima Khan was born on 26 October 1972. She graduated from the University of Lahore. She has been an actor since 1988. She is renowned for her role in Patt Jharr, Fareb, Nashaib, Zeeshan, Chandpur Ka Chando. Along with Ayeza Khan and Faysal Qureshi, she appeared in Adhoori Aurat and in Khuda Aur Mohabbat with Imran Abbas Naqvi and Sadia Khan. Naima is married to Rashid Ahmad Khan and had three daughters and the eldest one passed away in 1993.

Arifa Siddiqui was born on 9 June 1969 in Lahore, Pakistan. She is the daughter of actress Talat Siddiqui, who worked in the film industry. Her sister Nahid Siddiqui is a classical dancer, and her cousin, Fariha Pervez, is aPakistani pop and TV singer. Arifa started her acting and singing career at a young age. She has worked in various TV serials in Pakistan. Her most notable work is in"Wadero Sayeen (1992)", "Naraaz (1985) and (1986)", “Miraat-ul-Uroos.” Arifa Siddiqui was a talented actress, and her smile was infectious.

Tahira Wasti born in 1944, at Sargodha during British India. She died on 11th of March, 2012 in Karachi, Pakistan. She was a Television actors and a writer. In Pakistan, she was very popular due to her writing. She got fame due to her character of ‘Isabella of Castile' in Shaheen a drama.

It is quite remarkable to notice that many of the actresses in the sub-continent today, whether from India or Pakistan, come from quite contrary backgrounds, most of them having either qualified for professional courses, or even having started a career in the very same field. How far this helps in their subsequent acting careers is yet to be assessed, but it can be safely presumed that it must be adding a few notches to their maturity levels, and this must be directly or indirectly showing in their acting.

Though not that young, one such name from Pakistan that immediately comes to mind is that of Samina Peerzada, who instead of pursuing a career in commerce, in which she had graduated, chose to opt for an acting career, and besides making a name for herself in several notable Pakistani dramas, went to become a producer and director too, having got married to fellow entertainment world personality, Usmaan Peerzada.

While technically her acting career started in 1980 with a child role in a British production “The Blood of Hussein”, her regular acting stint commenced, as it normally does in Pakistan, through her roles in Television dramas, 3 years later. This allowed her to gain name and fame as an accomplished actress. She liked this genre and was also liked by her fans in TV dramas, with over 40 appearances against her name, spanning across 31 years and all major TV channels. Her most notable dramas were “Ishq ke Inteha”;  “Meri Zaat” and “Zindagi Gulzaar Hai”.

Her appearances in mainstream films as well as the lighter genre of TV serials has not been as voluminous as that in TV dramas, exposing perhaps her liking for the medium of drama. Rather, she was keener to try out her hand in film direction, starting off with “Intehaan” in 1999, on a theme dealing with the controversial social issue of marital rape. Even in Pakistan’s conservative environment, the film was critically acclaimed. However, after 4 films in some of which she acted also, she settled back to her favorite genre of TV dramas, where she is making her presence even now.

Born on 9th August 1955 in Lahore, Pakistan, Samina Butt is a Pakistani actress who has worked in many dramas, films, and telefilms. She has also shown a keen knack for direction in the past years. She graduated from the Karachi Government College of Commerce and Economics. She is married to Usman Peerzada, a well-known actor in the industry, and has two daughters, Anum and Amal Peerzada. She changed her name from Samina Butt to Samina Peerzada after marrying the actor. Samina made her film debut in 1980, playing Lisa in the film The Blood of Hussain. She has worked in many films over the years like Shaadi Mere Shohar ki ( 1986), Mukhra (1988), Bazar-e-Husn (1988), Bulandi (1990), Nazdeekiyan (1991), Pabandi (1992), Khwahish (1993), Zar Gul (1997), and The Valley (2017). She has also performed in theatrical productions, most notable of which are Raaz-o-Niaz and A Doll House.

Amjad Islam Amjad was a poet, lyricist, writer/author, columnist, screenwriter and a playwright. He was born on 4th August 1944 in Lahore, Punjab (considered in British India). Amjad Islam Amjad used to write in Urdu language and therefore was also known as an Urdu writer. He received his school education from the University of the Punjab in Lahore. Later, he graduated from Government Islamia College. He did a masters degree in Urdu literature from Punjab University. Amjad had married Firdous Amjad with whom he had a child namely Ali Zeeshan Amjad. He had written more than 70 books and was honored with many reputed awards. His career began with him appointed as a lecturer in Government M.A.O. College, Lahore. He then was appointed as director general of Urdu Science Board in 1989.

Ayub Khawar is a famous Pakistani poet, writer, and television director. Ayub was born on 12 June 1948 in Chakwal. He completed his education in Karachi and received a master's degree in Urdu Literature from the University of Karachi. He worked in the media industry for more than four years, from 1976 to 2004, as a project manager, television producer, and manager of satellite and terrestrial TV channels. Ayub has made some fire tv series like Ghareeb-e-Sheher, Ali Baba Aur 40 Chor, Kaanch ke Par etc. He has directed many popular serials for PTV like Fishaar, Khawaja, Son, Pataal, Qasmi Kahani, and Gulzar Classics.

Mehmood Aslam, born on 1st December 1951 in Lahore, Pakistan is a Pakistani comedian, television and stage actor. He is working in drama series and Pakistan showbiz. He acted in the movie ‘Strawberry’ in the year 2013. He is famous for his roles in the television series Serial Din, Janjaalpura, Bulbulay, Landa Bazar, Daray Daray Naina, Uraan and Ladies Park. He has also acted in many television commercials. He started his acting career a bit late than the other actors comparatively, but he soon was able to make a name for himself within a few years.

Tauqeer left a solid impression of his acting in serious roles, which led him to be awarded with Pride of Performance award by President of Pakistan, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award, and his name was nominated for Best Actor Drama Series in the 1st Indus Drama Awards 2005 for Maa Aur Mamta.

Sohail Ahmed is a Pakistani comedian and a TV actor whose mere presence is enough to bring a smile to one’s face. Born on 1 May 1963 in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, Sohail is a director and a writer. Sohail’s work got recognition when he played the character of Azizi in the show, Hasb-e-Haal, on Dunya News. Qavi Khan aka Mohammad Qavi Khan is a Pakistani movies and TV star, a radio artist and director as well. He was born on 13 Nov, 1932 in Lahore, Pakistan. Noman Ijaz is a Pakistani actor, who was born on 14th February 1965 in Lahore, Pakistan. His father was a manager at one movie theatre in Lahore and his father’s job influenced him a lot in getting into the acting career. His family led a simple and humble life and his father wanted to make sure that all of his three children received good education and they were sent to the best Christian Management schools in Lahore. Noman has two brothers and he is now married to Rabia and they have three children.

He began his acting career through PTV and he acted mainly in dramas. He was famous for his negative roles in the dramas and is considered as one of the most respected senior artists in the Pakistan industry. Noman struggled a lot to find his place in the industry initially and he was widely respected for his hard work and humble behaviour. He started his career with a negative role in the drama ‘Rihaee’ which made him famous both among the audience and the industry folks.

He has an Urdu movie ‘Ramchand Pakistani’ to his credit which was released in 2008. He portrayed a Pakistani Hindu, who crossed the border towards India accidently and his wife’s role was played by Nandita Das in the movie. He was honoured by Pakistan president with the ‘Pride of performance award’ in 2011. He currently hosts a TV show on PTV.
