Thalla Pellama is a Telugu game show. Game shows are a type of reality shows where different contestants are asked to participate in different games to win the show. The concept of Game shows was started by American networks that produce one of the earliest types of game shows which is Quizzing shows. In the show, different participants are made to compete with each other by making them answer difficult quiz questions. These shows ran on time base judgment which is a way of scoring people based on how much time they take to answer a question. The participant who answers the most questions in lesser time wins the show and takes home the prize of the show. This format became popular soon and took the television industry by storm and many networks invested in this show. Soon the storm reached India and Indian networks started producing these quizzing or game shows. Different types of game shows were also introduced such as riddles and puzzle games or stunt games and many more.

The concept of Thalla Pellama is a unique one as it mixes the concept of quiz game with something a lot more exciting. The show invites various popular celebrities along with their wife and mother. The wife and the mother of the participant are then made to stand apart and represent aside. The participant then is asked mind-boggling and puzzling questions and they are presented with two answers, one of which is the right choice. Now here comes the twist, each of the two answers is represented by the mother and wife of the participant and both of them now try to convince the participant in making them choose the answer they represent. This makes it hard for the participant to make a choice. If the participant can select the correct answer, he gets the point otherwise he loses the round. This is a very fun concept.

The show is hosted by the popular anchor and television presenter Anasuya. She has worked extensively in Telugu television and films. She is however best known for her anchoring talent and has hosted various successful Telugu language shows.
