Nijam is a Telugu language TV serial that airs on the channel ETV Plus from Monday to Friday at 7:30 pm for half an hour. The serial was produced by Yatas Media. It started on 9 March 2020 and ended on 27 March 2020, with a total of 14 episodes. It is a crime-thriller that involved uncovering the truth of five fictional crimes. In the first episode, ex-IPS officer J D Lakshminaraya spoke about the idea behind the serial. He said that that aim is to show the public how they can help a police investigation and not be afraid of stepping forward. The five crime stories are; Fake Relationship: Swarna Latha, a business magnet, her husband, Ranjith, business partner, Nanda, and his wife, Sharmila, are family friends.

One night, after a business meeting in their guest house, Swarna and Nanda took their own cars home and met with an accident in two different places at the same time. The police were first misinformed that Swarna and Nanda were having an affair, which was proved wrong. The investigation further revealed that it was Ranjith and Sharmila who were having an affair, but they didn’t commit the murder. A few days before the accident, both Swarna and Nanda unknowingly called the same contract killer to kill their business partner, and it was they who caused each other’s accidents. Kanchana: A farmer finds blood on a farm and finds out that it is in the water.

The police find out that the water is coming from one of the hotels nearby. They find eight dead bodies in a hotel water tank. It is revealed that those eight members partied along with another twenty of their intermediate friends. Another member of the party was found dead in a different place. The police find out that it was he who committed the crimes as his friends used to tease him by calling him ‘gay’ in school as he used to like dressing up as a girl and dancing, and that it ruined his life. Lady Dragon: With many people being kidnapped, ACP Shivani has been suspended due to the lack of action. Around the same time, her father gets attacked by four goons, and the doctor says his kidneys have failed and need a transplant.

A ward boy tells her that he can arrange kidneys easily, which uncovers the underground organ trafficking. A child is appointed to lure people to an abandoned building, where they are kidnapped and sometimes killed for their organs. Shivani, along with two other police officers, finds out that the Health Minister is behind this racket. Illarikam: Ramachandra Rao is a respectable man in his village. His son-in-law turned up dead in a field. He died by drinking insecticide, which was first considered suicide but later was deemed to be a murder. A few days later, Ramachandra Rao’s wife, Anasuya, ends up dead. Police investigation reveals that Ramachandra Rao killed his son-in-law as he had an affair with his wife. The servant killed Anasuya out of respect for Ramachandra Rao.

Romantic Gift: The police receive two complaints, the kidnap of a schoolgirl and the suicide attempt of a model, Kanishka, due to her leaked nude photos, on the same day. The kidnapped girl’s father, Vignesh, is found dead, and the police suspect his wife, Krishnaveni, is involved. Police find out that Seshu, a contract killer, is involved. He reveals that Mukesh, Krishnaveni’s friend/lover, paid him for both the crimes. It is later revealed that someone committed them both before Seshu could do it. Kanishka and her brother were the culprits. They killed Vignesh as he was the one that revealed the nude photos on the internet.
