When she got holidays after her 10th class, she came to Hyderabad with her mother and she went to the shooting spot with her. The director asked her to act in a village girl role there. She and her mother accepted and she acted in two serials which were telecasted on Doordarshan. She then went back to Vizag for her further studies.

At that time, she got many offers, but her mother did not accept for Shruthi to act in serials, because of her studies.
