The story revolves around a young woman, Jaanu. She gets married to someone whom she does not know well. Thus, they do not share a close relationship. Jaanu is a girl who has faced lots of challenges in her personal life. But she has been brave and overcame all those challenges. Her husband is a good man. He tries to be friends with her, but Jaanu does not reciprocate. Her husband feels lonely but hopes that someday Jaanu will love him back. She still reminisces about her lover.

She had a loving relationship with him. But one day, he gets jailed. Jaanu's parents force her to forget her relationship and get married to a better prospect. Her life takes a turn after she decides to get married. She has to go through several mental challenges. It is one of the popular shows in Sri Lanka. It has a compelling storyline that has resonated well with the Sinhala audience.
