The judges traveled to the popular cities of Nepal for auditions. After days of vigorous judging, the most difficult task for the judges was to select 300 people among thousands of deserving people. In the next stage, they have to perform in groups of ten and then trios. After this round, thirteen contestants are finally selected for the show. The show introduces several fresh and impressive singers. The selected singers compete with each other intensely.

Each episode features them singing their rendition of popular and challenging songs. The judges judge them and advise them on how to perform better. The judges point out their inefficiencies so that they can correct them. Based on the voice quality, song choice, performance, stage presence, and versatility, the judges score them. As per these scores, the candidates can move forward in the show. There are multiple rounds in the show. With each round, the challenges become difficult.

Each episode would have a different theme. Every contestant shows their skills and charisma during performances. Based on this, the public would vote for their favorite performer, and along with the scores of judges, it would be decided if the participant could continue the show. There is a healthy competition between them. The thirteen contestants were Aadesh Poudel, Bhupendra Thapa, Biswas Upreti, Benisha Poudel, Kanden Limbu, Laxmi Poudel, Madan Gurung, Namgyel Tamang, Rajkumar Pariyal, Ranjeet Nepali, Sangeet Poudel, and Suresh Lama. Bhupendra, Namgyel, and Ranjeet were in the Top 3. Bhupendra Thapa won the title of Nepal Idol. Namgyel and Ranjeet were first and second runner-ups respectively.
