Saamagri Aur Sampatti is a TV show that aired on the EPIC channel from 6 February 2019, every Wednesday at 10 pm. It ran for 26 episodes. It is an informative program that explains the history of the trade of major commodities all over the world by focussing on how India impacted them and vice versa. The show runs in a conversational format, where two people, a male and a female, share a conversation about one commodity at a time. They provide information about its origin, journey through the history, how people have invested in it, which civilizations, metallurgy, usage, mines, place it was extracted the most, relation to Indian mythology, varieties, processing, impact on health, impact on Indian currency, Kingdoms, food items, etc.
It is explained through animations and drawings, making it more captivating to the audiences’ eyes. The commodities discussed on the show are; Indigo, Ebony, Ivory, Silver, Gold, Copper, Cotton, Silk, Pearl, Coffee, Tea, Cinnamon, Chilli, Mustard, Sesame, Sandalwood, Saffron, Cashew, Clove, Fennel, Cardamom, Rubber, Zinc, Cumin, Black pepper, and Turmeric.
