, who invites a mother to his studio to cook any item with dal, something she usually cooks for her children. Dal is a very special food item for Indians. It isn’t only equated with Indian culture but also with a mother-child bond. Every person has said that they miss ‘Maa ki dal’ at least once in their lives. It is both comfort food and traditional food.
That’s what makes this show special. Some episodes featured a mother teaching the recipes of her favourite dal items, and some feature the chef himself cooking special dishes. There was also a Maa Ki Dal event where the chef taught some of his dal recipes to mothers after they finished teaching his theirs.
