Naagin is an Indian Hindi language supernatural thriller television show. The supernatural thriller is a type of show which is crowded with mystical characters as well as mystical elements in the story. Characters in these types of stories have magical powers. In India, supernatural shows have always been a rage because of the influence of the ancient folklores which had supernatural elements. Naagin falls in that category. The show has many shape-shifting serpent women who live among humans in their form. They are called Naagin. They have very powerful strength and fantastical magical powers. The main source of their power is a substance called ‘Naagmani’.
Many other creatures want to acquire the Naagmani but these serpents keep it safe. Each season of the show has a new villain who tries to attain the naagmani to get superpowers but these serpents always put up a great fight and ultimately succeed in securing the naagmani. The season five follows a bunch of Villainous team eagles or ‘cheel’ who have the power to become humans. This power has been given to them by their god, Cheel Devta. They are not satisfied with the powers they have and want to gain more powers. For this reason, they make a plan to steal naagmani from the temple of Shiv. To save the nags and naagins from cheels, Shiv Ji gives the snakes the power to become human and fight these cheels.
After defeating them, these snakes get divided into love pairs of naags and naagins. The rest of the story follows one such love pair called, Nageshawari and Hriday. They love each other but Aakesh, a cheel who wants Nageshwari interferes in their love affair. The fifth season started airing on television from 9th August 2020 and is still going strong. It has recorded high ratings. The show features on the channel, Colors TV.
