We cannot forget the girl from movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ who called Akash (Aamir Khan) with her vexatious voice, akaaaaaaaaaaash! Yes, you got me right I am talking about Samantha Tremayne, who played the character of Deepa in the movie. She had a small role, but she indeed made her impact on our memories. At the beginning of the film, she portrayed the role of a silly girl who has a crush over his college mate Akash (Amir Khan). Samantha played it like a typical teenage girl who is madly in love with someone. Later on in a scene with Sid (Akshay Khanna), portraying Deepa she gained our sympathy too. She made full justice with the character and every girl connected with her while watching her on screen. This happy go lucky actress was first seen in a serial called ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ (1999).

Ira Dubey is among the brightest, most talented young actresses in the country today. Born on August 1, 1984, Ira grew up in a family of actors and claims that theatre was imprinted in her personality. Her father, Ravi Dubey is the senior vice president and her mother, Lillete Dubey is an actress.

Lillete Dubey is an Indian theater personality who has also featured in various Bollywood and British films. She was born in Pune to Govind and Leela Kiswani. Her father named her Lillete as a faux-French derivation of her mother’s name Leela, and she never had an affinity for her name during her childhood. She attended a Parsi boarding school, “Rustoms” and also went on to change various schools due to her engineer-fathers regional postings.

One of the prominent faces in the industry of Bollywood is that of Kunal Kohli. He is a director, writer, producer as well as a chef by profession. Kunal’s mother’s name is Yash Kohli, who was a huge Shashi Kapoor fan. Hence, she chose the name Kunal for her son, after Shashi Kapoor’s son, Kunal. Yash Kohli is always mistaken by people for Dev Anand’s nephew, Yash Kohli, who is a producer. Kunal tied the knot with Ravina Kohli, the director of the well-appreciated TV series, ‘Koffee with Karan’. She was also a part of Yash Raj TV. The duo, after their 12 years of marriage, adopted a baby girl. She has been named Radha by Kunal.

Mehul Nisar is a famous actor, who made his debut in some Indian movies. But he is a best known due to his role in ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘The Curse of King Tut's Tomb’ and in TV series ‘Hip Hip Hurray’. He began his career with the TV show ‘Hip Hip Hurray!’ in 1999. The story was based on the lives of 12th-grade students at the DeNobili High School and their exciting experience, fears, hopes, relationships, and interactions. That story also focused on the issues of younger generation such as dating, careers, health and exams. In this series, he played a role as Mehul.

Ram P. Sethi aka Pyare Lal is an Indian actor who is mostly known for his supporting roles in Hindi films like Namak Halaal, Chameli Ki Shaadi, PK, etc. Born on 31st August 1938, Ram grew up in Delhi in a big Punjabi family with seven brothers and a sister. Having been influenced by his brother who worked in the theater, he left home in 1962 to try acting in films in Mumbai. He was supported in this decision by his father, who reportedly gave him 150 rupees as an allowance to be used for six months. Unfortunately, he did not find much success and returned to Delhi a year later. However, not the one to give up, he came back to Mumbai in 1964 and met filmmaker Ravi Tandon (father of actress Raveena Tandon). Tandon was not making any movies at that point but assured Ram that as soon as he could find a role for him, he would call him. With this assurance, Ram went back to Delhi.

Born on 11th April 1946, Navin Nishcol is an actor from India. He entered the Hindi film industry with Sawan Badon during the year 1970. This film also marked the entry of Rekha. This film was commercially successful and Nischol was one of the sought out actors since then for many years. 

Navin Nischol had his studies at the Bangalore Military School. A commendable fact is that, he was the first one to get gold medal, which was granted by the Film and Television Institute of India. His earlier films Dhund and Victoria No. 203 were among his superhits, but it was the film Hanste Zakhm which was the turning point in his career. 

The 1970s were in favor of this veteran; he was the happening actor at that time. His chocolate boy image also did well to him. Some of the songs of his films worked in favor of him. Nischol made his screen presence felt for over a decade. 

After acting in lead roles Nischol worked in character roles. Khosla Ka Khosla and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman was a couple of films in which he played the supporting role. His stint in television turned successful as he acted in some television serials. He was a household name with the serial Dekh Bhai Dekh. 

Nischol was called as “Poor man’s Rajesh Khanna”. Nischol had also acted in a couple of Punjabi films. His first marriage with Neelu Kapur, sibling of Shekar Kapur was not successful. Later Nischol wedded Gitanjali who was also a divorcee. Geetanjali resorted to suicide and Nischol was blamed for that along with his brother. 

Navin Nischol also tried his luck in the production of a Hindi film, but it was shelved eventually for reasons best known to him. 

He breathed his last at the age of 65 following a heart attack.

Sharokh Bharucha is an Indian actor. He appeared as a child actor in the movie Hum Hain Rahi Pyar ke (1993), along with Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Kunal Khemu. He has done television shows which include Ssshhhh..Koi Hai, Hip Hip Hurray, Rishte, and Kareena Kareena. Aside from Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, he has also appeared in Sang dil Sanam (1994), Jo Jeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha (1998) with Ajay Devgan and Kajol, Aatish: Feel the Fire (1994), Yaar Meri Zindagi (2008), everybody says I'm fine (2001), and Laat saat (1992).

Gautam Rode is an Indian actor who predominantly acts in television serials and Bollywood movies. Gautam is basically from Delhi and was born on 14th August 1977. Gautam did his schooling at Army Public School, Delhi and completed his graduation from Bhagat Singh College majoring in Commerce. Initially, Gautam didn’t have plans for making an entry into acting or films, and he took care of his father’s business and stock brokering in the share market. Despite his father’s advice to continue the same business, fate had other ideas and hence now he is an actor and a model.

In addition, he essayed the role of a senior citizen facing a day-to-day common man’s problem in a Marathi TV serial Shriyut Gangadhar Tipare. The versatile actor was associated with the troupe of Ratnakar Malikar’s troupe and had performed in all the plays staged by the group. Some of the notable character that he portrayed in Marathi TV screen includes the character of Chimanrao which was based on a series of short story by CV Joshi. It was telecast in the year 1979 when TV programmes were in black and white. This Marathi comedy serial still haunts the Marathi viewers. After his successful stage performances in Lobh Nasav Hi Vinanti in 1991 that was based on a story by Vijay Tendulkar, the actor had never turned back. It was this stage performance that pulled him to stage acting career and thereafter he transformed his acting potentiality for many films, and television serials. He is the veteran theater personality in Marathi stage, who was born on 4th August, 1944. His career graph illustrates that he has acted over 6 Hindi films and 16 Marathi Films and 8 TV serials, which are notable. A sought-after actor has worked with many leading directors like Amol Palekar, Raj Kumar Hirani and Ram Gopal Varma in his long career. Even at a senior age, his spirit of acting never seems to fade away!

Sridhar Rangayan is an Indian director who worked for the Kannada film industry. He was born on 2nd April 1962 in Mandy, Karnataka. Sridhar is a multi-talented director, screenwriter, and film producer who shared his work in South Indian movies. He is famous for his special focus on queer subjects like The Pink Mirror and Yours Emotionally are considered to be groundbreaking which show the large closet of the Indian gay community.
