Shilpa Navalkar is an actress cum writer, predominantly working in the Marathi film and TV industry. She was born on April 27th to the Indian politician Pramod Navalkar and his wife, Vandana. She has a sister named Reshma. Shilpa is married to Hrishi Deshpande. Together, they have a daughter named Kuhu Deshpande. She opened an ad agency, Aadyot Ad Films, with her husband. She has been into acting since her childhood. While studying electronics engineering, she participated in plays in college and later became a professional theatre artist. In 1999, Shilpa made her acting debut in the film Kairee, directed by Amol Palekar, and won the Debutant Award. She did an Indo-French film, Maya, in 2001. Shilpa bagged the lead role in the Marathi TV serial Bhagyavidhata.

Alka Yagnik is a very popular playback singer of the Bollywood film industry. She was born on March 20, 1966. She has been working in the Hindi film industry for three decades. She had bagged seven Filmfare awards out of the thirty five nominations at the Filmfare awards. It was for the best playback singer award category. Her singing is quite beautiful and she was felicitated by many icons. 


She came to the Bollywood industry as a singer at her early age. This gave her a lot of experience and she groomed herself as a consistent and successful singer. Alka Yagnik's songs were listed more than 20 times in the “BBC's “Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time”. Alka Yagnik was born in Kolkata on 20 March, 1966 to the Gujarati-Hindu parents. She started her singing career at the age of six while she had sung the song for the All India Radio, Kolkata. 


She came to Mumbai at the age of 10 as a child singer. She had sung 2482 songs in 1114 films as of date. Alka Yagnik has a soothing voice that manifests the song even better. She is the fifth most successful and prominent singer of Bollywood cinema. Her career in Bollywood has been more than three decades and she had pulled out pretty good in the duet numbers. She is a classically trained singer who had profound knowledge in it. Alka Yagnik had won a lot of awards in the prominent ones like Zee Cine Awards, Star screen awards, Filmfare, IIFA awards, Bollywood movie awards, etc. Alka Yagnik had been highly rewarded for having won a lot of Filmfare awards and got the maximum number of nominations. 


In the hundred years of Hindi cinema function, Alka Yagnik's song “Taal Se Taal Mila” from the movie Taal was voted as the best song of the century. This had been done by Fever 104, , Hindustan Times and DesiMartini. She has been active in the Cinema industry since 1980.

4. Tabu

Tabu was born in Hyderabad to Rizwana and Jamal Hashmi. After her schooling, she went to Mumbai to do her graduation. She appeared in small roles in the Hindi films. Her official debut as a heroine is in a Telugu film opposite Venakatesh in Coolie No. 1. In 1987, Tabu was booked in Prem with Sanjay Kapoor. The film was a flop, but Tabu got good market in Hindi as well as South Indian films. After some flop movies, Tabu was identified well for her performances in Saajan Chale Sasural and Jeet. She got the National Award for the Best Actress for performing in Maachis. After that, she performed in Kaalapani opposite to Mohan Lal. This film was a super hit and Tabu was accepted in the south Indian film industry. Her first Tamil movie was Kaadhal Desam in which Abbas made his debut. Consecutively she got good roles in Snehithiye and Kandukonden Kandukonden, the blockbuster Tamil movies. Snehithiye was led by Jyotika, in which Tabu had a great role as a Police Officer. She has done justice to the role given to her. Similarly, in Kandukonden Kandukonden, she performed extremely well with Ajith Kumar, Mammooty and Aishwarya Rai. In 2001, she acted in the Hindi film Chandni Bar, which acclaimed her the Best Actress and won the National Award for her. She is one among the few actresses who got the National Award for more than once. Her latest movie was Haider, in which she got the best supporting actress award from the Film Fare.

Anand Bakshi was an old poet and lyricist with his popularity in the Hindi film industry. Anand Bakshi He was born in Rawalpindi, a part of India in 1930 which later got converted into a Pakistan city after independence in 1947. His mother died when he was five years old. Due to the partition of India and Pakistan, on October 2, 1947, Bakshi’s family shifted themselves to Delhi. Initially, Bakshi was in the Indian Army after completing his studies. Lucky Ali is a famous Indian singer, who was born as Maqsood Mahmood Ali. He is a Songwriter and a Composer. He is also an Actor and a Philanthropist. His father wrote the script of ‘Dushman Duniya Ka’, meaning, Enemy of the World, a movie that was actually influenced by Lucky Ali’s tête à tête with marijuana. Manzoor, who is the younger brother of Lucky Ali, stars in this movie. The plot of the movie is about a young man, who is a drug abuser by the name, ‘Lucky’. In the final scenes, this young man will murder his own mother and then go on a rampage to obliterate everything that stands in his path and around his place, eventually to be killed by his own father’s hands. When asked about the movie, Lucky said and was quoted as, ‘feeling the story was totally lacking in hope’. Having said that, he has not declined the offer to sing his first song, and the film has his song in it. Lucky Ali has debuted with his album ‘Sunoh’, and it was a prompt success that made him one of the established singers in the Indian Music Industry. He has won ‘Screen Awards’ for the year 1996, and the ‘Viewers' Choice Award of Channel V’ in 1997, for ‘Sunoh’ in the category, ‘The Best Pop Male Vocalist’. For a total of 60 weeks, it listed on the MTV Asia Charts. His later albums were not up to the success of his debut. Lucky is also a self-taught guitarist. He took a break in acting and resumed it by starring in the movie ‘Good Luck’ in 2008. His work associations include that of composers such as, six times National Film Awards winner Vishal Bhardwaj, and A.R Rahman from Chennai, along with the duo Vishal and Shekhar. He has also done good works, composing with Rajiv Bhalla of ‘O Teri’ fame, and Michael McCleary, known as Mike McCleary and Mikey McCleary from Chennai, who is presently a New Zealander, and also with Prashant Pillai, the Malayalam Music Producer.

9. Paresh Rawal

The Padma Shri award winner who shot to fame with his role in the 1986 blockbuster film ‘Naam’, which told the story of a poor family that struggled to make ends meet, was born on 30th May 1950 in Mumbai. He completed his graduation from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Rawal made his debut in the film industry through the movie ‘Holi’ in the year 1984 but it was his next film, ‘Naam’, which brought him all the fame and attention as an actor. Success followed him, and he acted in over hundred films during 1980s and 1990s. Such was his versatility, that he has done roles from lead actor to Main villain. He did the role of main villain in most of his movies and he was considered as a character actor during those days. 


The 1994 hits ‘Woh Chokri’ and ‘Sir’ won him the national award for best supporting actor and ‘Sir’ won him the Filmfare award for best comedian. He received nationwide recognition as villain through his negative roles in Telugu blockbusters like ‘Kshana Kshanam’, ‘Money’ etc. He was considered as a character actor until his role in the 2000 hit ‘Hera Pheri’ which gave a turn in Paresh Rawal’s career. ‘Hera Pheri’ told the story of a witty Marathi landlord who rents his apartment out to bachelors.
