1. Vandana Pathak

Vandana Pathak, who plays the character of Bakula Vasavada in SAB TV's R K Laxman Ki Duniya, is a very talented Hindi and Gujarati actress. She is the daughter of actor Arvind Vaidya. She grew up in Ahemdabad and has acted in number of Gujarati plays. She is married to actor, director Neeraj Pathak and has two children, Yash and Radhika.


Her TV career started in 1995, when she played Meenakshi Mathur in Zee TV's popular comedy show Hum Paanch. In 1999, she was seen in the serial Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka and in 2000; she became part of the most memorable comedy show Khichdi. In khichdi, she played a gossip monger house wife, Jaishree Parekh. In 2004, she appeared in Ye Meri Life Hai, TV serial which telecasted in Sony TV. In Main Kab Saas Banoogi, she played the role of a confused mother-in-law. Vandana Pathak is a natural comic artist. She considers that making people laugh is a hard job and therefore she likes to be a part of comedy shows. She also believes in concentrating on one project at a time. These days she is playing the character Bakula Vasavada, in the comedy show R K Laxman Ki Duniya. This show is based on the cartoons of R K Laxman, and is aired on SAB TV. 


Till date, she has done a wide variety roles and she is satisfied with her work and is thankful to god for making her popular. Now she is looking for an image makeover and wants to do roles according to her age.

Supriya Pathak is an Indian actress who has been reigning the screens of Hindi Cinema with her roles as supporting actress for a long time. She was born in January, 1961 in Mumbai. Supriya Pathak’s mom is the famous actress Dina Pathak . Her father, Baldev Pathak, had a tailoring shop named ‘Shriman’ near Gateway of India. The shop was very famous as it made clothes for the legendary actors Dilip Kumar and Rajesh Khanna. Supriya’s sister, Ratna Pathak Shah, is the wife of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. She did not have a good childhood. Her mom worked day and night, leaving her to stay at her uncle’s place. She did PhD in Competitive Dance. Supriya got married to actor and director Pankaj Kapur. Supriya is very introvert, simple and spiritual in nature. She is the follower of Radha Soami. Her husband is the center of her life. She first started acting in theatres before working in movies. She made debut with the film ‘Kalyug’ in 1981 and won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film. She received much praise for her performance in ‘Bazaar’ in 1982. Her role in the recent movie ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela’ created an unforgettable image on the audience’s mind. She again won the Filmfare Award for this film as Best Supporting Actress. Supriya is a prominent face in TV Series as well. She is still remembered for her outstanding performance as ‘Hansa Parekh’ in the comedy series ‘Khichdi’ which was aired during 2002 to 2004. She even received Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Comic Role for this series. She was also seen in the TV series Chhanchhan telecasted on Sony TV. Supriya also appeared in a French film named ‘The Bengali Night’.

4. Rajeev Mehta

Rajeev Mehta is a famous Indian television and Bollywood film actor and a known face to the Gujarati theatre. He started his acting career in year 1992 through the film, Beta. In 1995, he made a cameo appearance in the 1995 Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar’s starrer film, Bollywood Dreams (Rangeela) as a steward in a restaurant. He also made appearances in another Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial films, Daud in 1997 and Satya in 1998. Rajeev also acted in the Hindi action film, Khiladi 420 as Rajiv. Few years after, he made an appearance in the box-office film, Waqt: The Race Against Time by Vipul Shah. Five years after, he was starred as Praful Tulsidas Parekh in the Bollywood comedy film, Khichdi: The Movie which also features Anang Desai and Supriya Pathak. The film is based on the television series, Khichdi and Instant Khichdi on STAR India. In 2011, he played as Prem in Amitabh Bachchan’s starrer film, Bbuddah…Hoga Terra Baap. He bagged the role of Arun Ghokle in the Telugu crime action film, Businessman in 2012. In 2013, he appeared in the box-office Punjabi film, Sadda Haq and in the same year, he was debuted in the Gujarati industry through the film, Happy Family Pvt. Ltd. Rajeev won the Best Actor for a Gujarati Film award at the 13th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards which was held in Mumbai, for his performance as Uttam Mehta in the film.


He got his big break on television after essaying the negative role as Sameer Purushottam Nanavati in the Hindi series, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka on Sony TV. Rajeev received a nomination for Best Actor in a Negative Role at the Indian Telly Award for his performance in the series in 2002. He gained more popularity and accolades for his character as Praful Parekh, the eldest in the Tulsidas and an extremely stupid guy who never does anything right on Hats Off Productions and UTV Software Communications’ Khichdi on STAR Plus from 2002 to 2003. This was followed with the same role in Khichdi’s sequel entitled, Instant Khichdi and a special appearance as Praful Parekh in the fantasy sitcom, Shararat in 2005. Rajeev made a guest appearance on Neel Telefilms’ Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV to promote the Khichdi: The Movie in 2010. Later, he was cast as Dalichand, the father of Devki (played by Esha Kansara) in the TV series, Mukti Bandhan on Colors. He donned a supporting role as Nikhilesh Majumdar in the comedy drama series, Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum in 2012. He replaces Manoj Joshi on another Hats Off Productions’ comedy drama show, Bh Se Bhade on Zee TV in 2013.

5. Anang Desai

Anang Desai was born on May 4, 1953 at Ahmedabad. He is married to ‘Chitra Desai’, who is a lawyer and has two sons. He went to ‘National School of Drama’, Delhi to hone his acting skills and graduated in 1978. He then, for the next 8 years, remained connected to institute’s Theater Company.
He started his acting career with his debut appearance in the Oscar winning Hollywood movie, ‘Gandhi’. The movie was released in 1982, wherein he performed the role of ‘J.B Kriplani’. Since then, he had acted in around 85 Bollywood movies. He has performed almost all types of characters in his 3 decades of Bollywood career.
He has also been working for TV industry since 1987, when he appeared in the political TV series, ‘Raj Se Swaraj’. The next year, he did a few episodes of all time hit Tele series, ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’ as ‘Raja Ram Mohan Roy’ and as ‘Ibrahim Lodi’. This historical drama was aired during 1988, on Doordharshan or DD National, as it is currently known as. In his illustratious career, he had worked with top Indian directors including Shyam Benegal, Subhash Ghai, Mahesh Bhatt and Satish Kaushik among others. He has acted in more than eighty TV-shows so far. The last year, he was seen in a Psychological thriller ‘Main Naa Bhoolungi’ as ‘Mahanto Jagannath’. The serial has been aired from Dec 2013 and recently been concluded during the month of Aug 2014 on Sony TV. Currently he is busy in doing a TV sitcom, titled, ‘Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala’ where in he is performing the role of ‘Hasubai Mehta’. The show has started on 18th Aug 2014 and is running on SAB TV.
He won two Star Pariwar awards for the role of ‘Tulsidas Parekh’ aka ‘Babuji’ in the TV sitcom, ‘Khichdi’. The serial was broadcasted from 2002 to 2004 on Star Plus. The second season was named as ‘Instant Khichdi’ wherein he again donned the role of ‘Tulsidas Parekh’ but this time the TV series was broadcasted on Star One (a sister channel of Star Plus) from 2005 to 2006. This was followed by the movie with the same name, ‘Khichdi: The Movie’ which was released during Oct 2010 and rated as average. In the movie, he again performed the role of ‘Tulsidas Parekh’ aka ‘Babuji’.
