Tamil Movie Review Vindhai - Cast & Crew

Manisha Jith is a South Indian actress who started her career as a child artist. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on 1st January 1993. She has done around 45 movies as a child artist. As a child artist, her first movie was ‘Gambeeram’ starring, Sarathkumar. In the movie, she played the role of his daughter. ‘Gambeeram’ is a Tamil movie released in the year 2004 which had Sarathkumar and Laila in the lead roles. The movie received and exorbitant opening and was an average grosser at the box office. After the experience of more than 45 movies as a child artist, she was promoted as a heroine and made her debut as an actress in the movie ‘Nanbargal Kavanathirku’. The film is a great mix of young and old actors. Its senior actors are Mahadevan, Raj Kapoor, and Thalaivasal Vijay.

M. S. Bhaskar is an Indian actor, born on Jan 19, 1952, and hailed from Muthupettai, Tiruvavur District, Tamil Nadu, India. He used to be a theater artist and performed as a comedian in Tamil TV series and films. His method of acting is simple and is getting professional by the day. He became famous for playing as Pattabi in the TV serial, Chinna Papa Periya Papa and Selvi; and as Vakkeel Venky in the 2005 Tamil film, Sivakasi; and as Gnanaprakasam in Mozhi. Besides acting, he was also a dubbing artist and a playback singer.

Master Mahendran is a popular child actor, who turned to be a hero through the movie Vizha. Master Mahendran was born in the year 1991 in Hyderabad. His career as a child artist started from his third age through the movie Naatamai. He has acted in more than a century of movies as a child artist. He got the Tamilnadu State Award for the Best Child Artist for the movie Thaikulame Thaikulame, starred by Pandiya Rajan.

He was still popular for his child role in the movie Aaha, which got released in the year 1997. In this movie he acted as Bhanu Priya and Raghuvaran’s son, who is very mischievous. He acted in almost all the south Indian language movies. In 1998, he acted in Minsara Kanna with Vijay, as his younger brother. For his performance in the Telugu movie Little Hearts, he bagged the Andhra Government’s Nandi Award for the Child Actor in the year 2000. He appeared in the 3D movie, Magic Magic with S. P. Balasubramanyam.

After a few years gap, he acted as an adolescent boy in the movies like Mudhal Kadhal Mudhal Mazhai and Jaggubai. In Jaggubai, the Sarathkumar movie, he acted as the friend of Shriya Saran. He made his debut as a hero in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously through the movies Vizha and First Love. Though that movie did not get a good recognition, he stayed as a hero. After that movie, he acted in Endrumae Anandham and Vindhai. Vindhai is a different story and this movie has the child artist, Manishajith as the heroine. Master Mahendran's next Tamil films are Aaki and Porida Pazhagu. 

Comedy is the forte of Manobala (Manobala Mahadevan), who is also a director. He was born on 4th June 1953 and acts in supporting roles too. His primary region of interest is Tamil. He has over 40 movies and 16 television serials to his credit. Having worked in 3 telefilms too, he has over 200 movies to his credit. He has worked under director Bharathiraja. 

Hailing from Sulur, Manobala forayed into the Tamil industry with the 1994 flick Thaaimaaman. Doing trivial roles initially, he switched to comedy later. He was appreciated for his comedy, and his skinny appearance added to the laughter of the audience. His rapport with Kamal Haasan, though commendable in the initial stages, was not good after some problems with the Directors Union. But later Manobala confessed that, he doesn’t hold any grudges with Kamal Haasan. The Sun TV program Asathapovathu Yaaru has Manobala’s presence frequently. He had a brief stint with production through the film Sathuranga Vettai. 

Oor Kavalan, Aagaya Gangai, Sirai Paravai, Moodu Manthiram, Pillai Nila, Moondrezhuthil En Moochirukkum, Karuppu Vellai and Nandini are a few flicks of his direction. As an actor his works are Natpukkaga, Taj Mahal, Annai, Minsara Kanna, Perazhagan, Priyasakhi, Samudhiram, Ghajini, Varalaaru, Thambi, Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, Santhosh Subramaniam, Polladhavan, Dindigul Sarathy, Abhiyum Naanum etc. Manobala is active in the industry from 1982 to till date. Manobala is credited to have done projects with three generations. He is a simple person and doesn’t like publicity. 

On his personal front Manobala is wedded to Usha. 

Manobala stated that people asked him to direct films like Pillai Nila. KS Ravikumar tapped his comical streak and his life changed a lot due to him. Manobala is grateful to K S Ravikumar for that. He feels that directing 40 films is indeed a commendable one.  

On 3rd May 2023, Manobala died in Chennai. He was suffering from illness related to pancreas. His sudden death saddened the film industry and fans.

Mahanadhi Shankar, formerly known as Shankar, is a Tollywood actor. He is mostly known for his villainous characters. He played the role of a wicked jail warden Thulukanam who created problems for Kamal Hassan in his debut movie Mahanadi. After such a brilliant performance, he got to be known as Mahanadhi Shankar in the industry. Since then he has been doing many villainous roles as well as comic roles in various movies.

Nellai Siva is a famous comedian and a supporting actor who predominantly works in Kollywood cinemas. He works mostly in comedy scenes. One of the outstanding comedy scenes with comedian Vadivelu is in the movie Kannum Kannum. In 2000 he played in Vetri Kodi Kattu as a tea shop owner. After this movie, he slowly progressed by acting in big movies like Saamy, which had actor Vikram in the lead, Anbe Sivam with Kamal Haasan in the lead, Thirupaachi with Vijay and Kireedam with actor Ajith Kumar in the lead.

V V Prasanna is a Tamil playback Singer with a great melodious voice. The particular contributions of the talented Editor came in the Tamil movies. He has worked dominantly in Tamil Film industry and keeps coming up with some gratifying work. He is a Carnatic vocalist and has performed many classical and Hindustani Concerts. He started his training under the Late. Shri. S.R.V. Sharma, a famous singer from Coimbatore and “Gaana Kala Kesari” Thiru. K.V.Nataraja Bhagavadar of Coimbatore. His skills were further developed and honed by Thiru. Neyveli.R.Santhanagopalan, who’s classisms are very popular and well known.

Mounam Ravi is a Public Relation Officer for the Tamil (Kollywood) industry. He's been a part of many blockbuster movies and had worked with many dignitaries. His work involves; understand and support his clients in matters related to how to portray their image in public and what steps should bring their client reputation, through using all forms of media and communication, reputable. He was born in the southern part of India and did his schooling from there. He started his career as a Public Relation Officer pretty soon in life, and today he is a well-heeled PRO. Being a PRO is not an easy job.

Writer, Director Lawraa was born in Tamil Nadu, India on January 1 1984, exactly in the New Year. His sun sign is Capricorn and has the height of 5.60 in feet inches. Lawraa had a simple life before his debut film 'Vindhai.' Film Vindhai was released on 22nd May 2015 by producer R. L. Yessudos. His life completely changed after the release of this south Indian movie. He started gaining fame and appraisals. Vindhai is a comedy entertainment film that cast MS Bhaskar, Nellai Siva, Manobala, Kadhal Saravanan and much more. Lawraa is the director and writer of the movie Vindhai. Lawraa became professional and rigorous regarding his work in the industry. He worked only in one film but gained prosperity with that single opportunity.

Kadhal Saravanan is a comedian and star of the Tamil Industry. He received his education at the V.M. Hr. Secondary School in Periyakulam and graduated from the Madurai Kamaraj University. He was born in Chennai, India. He works in romantic movies as well as comedy movies. He has participated in several well-known films, including Chanduru Muruganandam's Not Reachable and Manjapai (2014), a comedy-drama directed by N. Ragavan, and it was a super hit at the box office. Vindhai (2015), directed by Lawraa, and Padithavudan Kizhithu Vidavum (2018), directed by Hari Uthra, are horror comedy movies. His work is well-liked by spectators in both the Kollywood and Tollywood sectors.

William Francis is one of the best music directors and composers in the Malayalam film industry. William was born in Kerala and is involved predominantly in Mollywood music composition. Williams Francis married actress Mithra Kurian in 2015 and is nowadays living in Perumbavoor, Kerala. Singer of one of William's compositions for a famous track, Athmavile from the film Kettyonalu Ente Malakha, Najim Arshad, won him the State Award for the Best Singer. Other movies for which William had given his music are Mohankumar Fans, Oru Desha Visesham, and Angarajya Jimmanmaar. William Francis also sang in the movies “Ellam Sheriyaakum” and “Kettiyollannu Ente Malakha.” Another famous piece of William Francis is Oru Desa Visesham.
