Plot

As some happenings made the village people feel about hosting the village festival, they decided to make it by offering the village deity with the paddy grown on their land. Sadly, except for Maayandi, none is engaged in farming. When Maayandi agrees to do it for the village, he is falsely arrested and kept behind bars. Why was he arrested? Was he able to come out? The rest of the film deals with this.

Star Performance

Nallandi has given a good performance. Vijay Sethupathi is perfect and steals the heart, and Yogi Babu did his cameo properly, and the rest of the stars have done a good job.

Analysis

The film carries the message about farming and how farming and farmers are diminishing slowly. Only a few filmmakers are still holding the grip to bring out the reality to the limelight, and Mani is one among them. The characters are designed so well, especially, Maayandi. Though he was wrongly charged, the senior citizen had never stepped down from his stand, and at the same time, he had never pleaded that he was innocent. He stood firm that he was clean. Though the film comes with a serious plot, it has enough humor. The cinematography by the director is outstanding. Similarly, the BGM is one of the strong pillars of the movie. Editing is perfect too.
