Revenge is best served cold, and this movie pretty amazingly sums it up. Avan Aval is a tale of love, lust and, revenge for love.

Plot: The movie has a very ordinary plot with extraordinary performances. Lead actor J Vignesh, who plays a husband, enjoys a very fruitful relationship with his wife, portrayed by Devika Madhavan Devika Madhavan is a Tamil movie actress remarkabl >> Read More... . The couple was over the moon until Vignesh saw his wife, Devika, intimate with another man. In such dire conditions, it is but obvious that Vignesh is all fired up. His lust has turned him livid, and the only thing he desires is vengeance. It is here that a plot twist comes up and someone aides Vignesh to get his revenge. Who helps Vignesh and why, is all stored in the movie.

Analysis: Overall the movie runs on an ordinary love and fraud story, but it indeed has pockets of humor, romance, and all-in-all, the much desired Tamil movie action. For a movie buff looking out for an interested romantic movie, Avan Aval is a must watch. Although the level of cinematography and dialogue delivery were not up to the mark, the action sequences, and script binds the movie together brilliantly.

Star performances: Avan Aval does not portray the biggest names in Tamil cinema but surely has a star-studded cast. The movie has J Vignesh in the lead role. His character draws inspiration from a well-off person leading a wealthy lifestyle. Devika Madhavan can be seen playing the unfaithful wife and, indeed she has pulled out the role brilliantly. She has shown the right amount of expression in romancing as well as in negativity. Adhisivan Subburaj proves apt selection as a supporting role along with NCP Vijayan. Both the supporting actors have decently portrayed their characters and did justice to their roles.

What's there:

1. The movie has an abundance of action and romance.

2. The action sequences are brilliant and jaw-dropping.

3. The plot of the movie and its twists are as masterpieces in the movie.

What's not there:

1. The low-quality cinematography is what degrades the movie.

2. The movie has songs in abrupt sequences and looks like the songs are unwillingly or unnecessarily added.

3. The role of the villain, which was the person whom the wife had an affair with, was seemingly demanding. And, thus proper casting would have brought some amazing sequences in the movie.

Verdict: The movie Avan Aval is an ordinary piece of art told unexpectedly. The whole crux of the movie revolves around love and revenge, which is quite usual, but the effort put in to make it interesting makes it a value for money movie.
