The Descendants Teasers, Trailers & Video Songs

The Descendants is a comedy/drama film based on a novel of the same name. Alexander Payne directed the movie and was one of the three people who had a hand in writing its screenplay. It takes place in Honolulu, Hawai, and is about an ordinary attorney who gets his life turned around by a dreadful accident. It is a story based on betrayal, love, and acceptance. The trailer’s opening has George Clooney, who plays the role of Matt King, running in a panic.

The background music has a Hawaiian tune and sets the scene with flashes of the breathtaking coastlines, sunny beaches, and sparkling water. But the background narration paints a different picture switching between clips of his unruly children and his tragic situation. The movie is flawlessly hilarious with touches of drama and heart-rending emotions to make it a classic story of familial love.

George Clooney’s role as a struggling father balancing between the various challenges brought on due to tragedy is on the nose. The movie also casts notable actors like Shailene Woodley as the rebellious teenager, Matthew Lillard as Brian Speer, Beau Bridges as Cousin Hugh and Judy Greer as Julie Speer. The movie was a success as it captured the heart of the audience with its simplicity and proficient acting.

The film won several awards including an Academy Award for its screenplay. It also won the Best Actor for Clooney and Best Supporting Female for Woodley. The story is a whirlwind of tragedy, laughter, and tears and is truly worthy of its accolades.
