An inconvenient sequel: Truth to Power is an American documentary film. Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk directed this movie, which was written by AI Gore, produced by Jeff Skoll, Richard Berge, and Dianne Weyermann, and edited by Don Bernier and Colin Nusbaum. Also, the production companies include Participant Media and Actual Films.

The movie is about America’s former Vice President AI Gore and his resolute mission to battle against the climatic changes. The film put forward Gore’s global effort to conserve the environment by convincing other leaders and entities to invest in renewable resources mainly focusing on renewable energy. The film was initially released on 17th of July 2017, by Paramount Pictures. The film collected over $5 million around the world. It was also nominated for many awards including Best Documentary at the 71st British Academy Film Awards.

Plot

The former American Vice President AI Gore continues to fight his battle to protect nature by creating a group or an army of activists by voyaging around the world to influence international climate policy. He continues with his motivational ideas to face the problems to cure climate change that can only be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.

Star performance

The main cast of the film was AI Gore who played a self role of himself. Since he was playing himself and the story revolved around him the performance was real it cannot be considered acting but as him living his own life. Thus, this added depth to their performance which in turn reflected in the film’s authenticity.

Analysis

The genre of the film can be considered as a documentary, mainly revolving around the main character that is former US Vice President AI Gore, and his ambitious goal to cure the climate change that we have been facing for the past few decades due to our actions. The movie was directed with a perfectly organized plan and plot. All of the cast members did their roles in the best way possible and since they were playing themselves in the film it created a depth to their performance and the reality of the film. The movie is a perfect application of the quote: “You reap what you sow”, implying our past aggression against nature which led to a series of events that caused the climatic changes that we are facing currently. This film makes us think deeper and shows how our greediness one day can be our downfall, if we are not careful we might fall harder!

Overall the film shows AI Gore traveling around the world to create a group to fight against climate change, he implies every single person on Earth to do the same for their future and the only way to overcome this is if we stand together and try our best with pure passion.

The movie presents terrifying insights into how our past actions might have affected our climatic conditions, thus this movie is like a wake-up call for the whole world to start working on protecting our nature. Overall it is a thought-provoking movie or documentary that is worth watching and spending your free time on. The majority of reviews show a positive impact and are time-effective.
