Bandula de Silva Vithanage was born on September 11th, 1940 in Gonagala, Srilanka. He was an eminent figure in the Sri Lankan film industry. He was popularly known as a talented director, actor, and dramatist. He is also recognized as a competent scriptwriter for films, television shows, and stage theatre. He was one of the first foundational figures of Sri Lankan art and drama. His primary education was at Athuruwella Elementary School. After that, he pursued further education and completed G.C.E O/L from Carrey College, Colombo. Buddhadasa Vithanarachchi is a renowned Sri Lankan actor working primarily in Sinhala stage drama, movies and Tv series. He was born on 30 July 1947 in Kegalle, Sri Lanka and completed his schooling at St. Mary's College, Kegalle. Buddhadasa was passionate about acting from an early age and participated in theatre events at his school. He married Sitha Lalani Hemamala, his long-time partner, and has two daughters, Priyanwada and Sulochana and a son, Siddhartha.
