Born in Sri Lanka on September 5, 1959, Rookantha Gunathilaka is a singer, musician, and songwriter. After playing keyboards for a while, Rookantha, one of Sri Lanka's most well-known musicians, became a solo vocalist in the late 1980s. He and his spouse Chandralekha Perera frequently perform duets. Both Raini Charuka and Windy, their daughters, are singers. In Sri Lanka's sentimental and pop music scene, Rookantha is among the most successful performers. In Sri Lanka, he is referred to as the King of Pop. In Sri Lanka, his albums sold roughly 15,000 copies. He is regarded as the artist whose songs transformed the Sri Lankan music scene in the 1980s.
