Ruvi Lakmali, born Ruvi Lakmali Trivia, is a talented and accomplished Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, and musician. Ruvi was born in the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka. A Bandarawela resident, Ruvi Lakmali is the youngest and only girl of three siblings. Having dreamed of becoming a dance teacher, she attended Visakha Girl's College in Bandarawela until the Advanced level. From a young age, Ruvi showed an interest in music and began taking singing lessons at the age of six. Her parents supported her musical aspirations and encouraged her to pursue her passion.

The beginning of Ruvi's career was when she competed in Sri Lanka's " Sirasa Superstar Story soon >> Read More... " singing competition. She is known for fusing traditional Sri Lankan sounds with contemporary pop elements in her music. She received numerous invitations to portray vivid roles in Tele drams. The series includes Aruna Jayawardena's "Adaraneeya Heenaya" telecast in Swarnavahini and "Hiru Thaniwela" on Hiru TV, two mega tele dramas. She portrayed the characters of Nelum in “Mosum Sulang” and the lead role of Yaso, a final year medical student, in “Vihanga Geethaya." Both these Tele drams consisted of 55 episodes shot in 28 days and telecasted on state channels ITN and Rupavahini.

Some of the short films are Ashawari, Withered Leaf, and Bimba Devi Alias Yashodhara. Her first film, Withered Leaf, had been chosen for Imagine India's XV1edition International Film Festival, which took place between May 17 and May 31 in Madrid, Spain. Ruvi weds Nakul Prasad, a manager at a television advertising firm. She appeared in the blockbuster film Bimba Devi alias Yashodhara in 2018, internationally acclaimed and screened in many overseas countries, including Australia. She played the role of the female lead opposite an Indian actress in her film. Her new film “Saranga Dissaasekera” will be released shortly, in which she is playing a role of the female lead role.
