Hyacinth Menik Kanthi Kurukulasuriya also known as Menik Kurukulasuriya is a prominent personality in the Sinhalese film industry. Born on 22nd October 1957, she studied at Good Shephard Convent in Pandura and graduated from St. Paul’s Girls School in Milagriya. Kurukuasuriya’s first break into the film industry was with the film Ahas Gauwa directed by Dharmasena Pathiraja where she played the role of Amarasiri Kalansuriya’s sister. After her successful debut, she acted in many films like Deepashika, Ahas Gauwa, Senakeliya, The God king, Sevaneli Aeda Minissu, Bamba Ketu Hati, Vajira, Thani Tharuwa, Biththi Hathara, Thama Giravi, Hitha Honda Kollek, and Adara Kathawa .Her acting was very well received by the audience and the critics.
