Anula Bulathsinhala was born on September 21st, 1947. She was a well-known Sri Lankan actress and singer. She married him in 1970, and they had two children: a daughter and a son. Her daughter, Indrachapa, became an accomplished opera singer in Vienna. Her son, Harsha, is enthusiastic about diverse arts such as acting, singing, and music.From a young age, Anula cultivated a passion for theatre. Her influence was her father who was a theatre actor. She loved to dance and pursued a diploma in Kandyan dance during her school years.
Her father wanted her to learn music. Hence, she also earned a Diploma in North Indian Ragadhari Music from Bhatkhand University in Lucknow, India. After her studies, she returned to Sri Lanka and joined the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). Later, she progressed in her career and became an A-grade singer.Her theatrical career began in 1968 when she joined the Colombo Sathosa Arts Circle. She made her stage debut in R. R. Samarakoon's play "Ledak Nathi Ledek" in 1967. She went on to appear in plays such as "Kontare," "RathuHettakari," "Kontharaya," "Charith Dekak," "TharavoIgilethi," "Madhura Jawanika," "Kuveni," and "Mahasara."
Anula rose to prominence after appearing in the drama "RathuHettakari," in which she sang the popular song "Dee Kiri Dee Kiri." Throughout her career, she was acknowledged for her talents and received various honors, including the Natya Keerthi Award at the State Drama Awards in September 2020.Anula has shown her excellence in acting for various Sinhala films, including "Bawathra" (2005), "Nil Diya Yahana" (2008), "Mahindagamanaya" (2011), "Asandhimitta" (2018), and " Goal Click to look into! >> Read More...
