Sarath Chandrasiri was a renowned actor in Sri Lanka. His natal day is on 13 June 1964. He was born in Panadura, Sri Lanka. He was married to Charika Jayamali and got blessed with two children; one son Kanchuka Thilakshana, an engineer who graduated from the University of Moratuwa, and one daughter Hasara Nilakshi, who graduated in physics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He did his schooling at Wekada Bauddhaloka Vidyalaya, Sri Lanka. Further, he studied at Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya, Panadura, Sri Lanka. He stepped into the career of acting in the school in 1976.

He won the best actor award at the All Island Drama Competition. He acted in various stage plays, television serials, and films. Some of his well-known stage plays are Abuddasa Kolama, Andarela, Chawdari, Dennek Na Ekkenai, Eka Sakkuwe, Guru Tharuwa, Ko Kukko, Kolam Pure, Mee Harak, Nari Burathi, Puthra Samagama, Raja Kapuru, Romba Thanks, Sooti Gamarala, Saha Raigam Banda, and Thalamala Pipila.
