Jayalath Manoratne, known as Keselgaspe Manatunga Jayalath Manoratne, born on June 12, 1948, was a Sri Lankan actor who predominantly worked in Sri Lankan film. He was a lecturer, director, and producer. He did movies from drama to comedy. He got an award from OCIC, an international catholic organization for cinema, the state literary and acting festivals. Because of his best performance in Socrates and Dvita, he was the best actor in 1991 and 1992. He is the youngest son in his family, with five other siblings. His father, keselgaspe manatunga Perera. He was a lorry driver, and his mother is Agalakotuwa Herath Mundiyanselage Leela Kumari.
She was a housewife. He completed high school at Dehipr primary school and his graduation from Poramadulla central college. He has five other siblings, of which three are brothers. And two are sisters. His talent was encouraged by Sunil Sriyananda, who was his music leader. In his college days, he participated in various extracurricular activities, like the president of the theatre council in 1966, the Sinhala literary association in 1965, and the president of the Sinhala Association in 1967-68.
