Mangoljao Samjetsabam is a Manipuri actor and director born in the Imphal region. Mangoljao is a well-known face from the old age of the Manipuri film industry. Mangoljao is the current chairman of Film Forum Manipur, an apex body of filmmakers that strive to add value and quality to the film industry of Manipur.Â
Mangoljao acted in several Manipuri films over many decades. Films like Nongju Ahing (2002), Shaya (2003), Angaobasu Thamoi Palli (2007), Lambishida (2010), Nongin (2011), etc. His daughter Sonia Samjetsabam is also a well-known actor in Manipur. Sonia in one of her interviews, said her father inspired her to pursue interests in the field of fine arts. Recently Mangoljao starred in Laal Nang Loikhinu (2019), Awaiba Mapu (2021), Hiyainu (2021), and Nungshi Lottery Phaorehe (2021).
