He is well-known for his roles in Urdu and Punjabi films. He is married to Samina Peerzada, who is a senior actor and director in the entertainment sector. He worked in the USIS Repertory Theatre Company in 1974, before he became a television artist. In 1975, he was offered the lead role in Pakistan's first English-language film, 'Beyond The Last Mountain,' produced by media veteran Javed Jabbar. He began a collaborative venture with Sri Lanka in 1976 and produced the film 'Sazish,' while his picture 'Seeta Devi' was a co-production between Sri Lanka, France, and Italy. He then went into the Pakistani cinema industry, where he appeared in several films.
