Seemi Raheel is a senior Pakistani actress who has worked in Urdu television and film for many years. She was born on 26 February 1957 in Sialkot, Pakistan. She is a Harvard Medical graduate who is recognized for playing lively and emotional mother characters. In real life, she is the mother of actor Daniyal Raheen and supermodel- cum-actress, Mehreen Raheel. Seemi started in the television industry with a drama sitcom, "Family Front," in 1997. After that, in 2002, she appeared in Prime Entertainment's "Landa Bazar," where she had played the role of 'Surraya Batool.'

A phenomenal producer and a brilliant director, Momina Duraid is the woman behind the popular Pakistani television dramas Humsafar, Dastaan, Udaari, Shehr-e-Zaat, and more. Hailing from a Pashtun background, Momina Duraid was born on June 30, 1971, in Pakistan. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 1997. She got married to classmate Duraid Qureshi, CEO of Hum Network Ltd. The couple has five children. Her mother-in-law, Sultana Siddiqui, is the founder and president of Hum Network Limited.

It is quite remarkable to notice that many of the actresses in the sub-continent today, whether from India or Pakistan, come from quite contrary backgrounds, most of them having either qualified for professional courses, or even having started a career in the very same field. How far this helps in their subsequent acting careers is yet to be assessed, but it can be safely presumed that it must be adding a few notches to their maturity levels, and this must be directly or indirectly showing in their acting.

Though not that young, one such name from Pakistan that immediately comes to mind is that of Samina Peerzada, who instead of pursuing a career in commerce, in which she had graduated, chose to opt for an acting career, and besides making a name for herself in several notable Pakistani dramas, went to become a producer and director too, having got married to fellow entertainment world personality, Usmaan Peerzada.

While technically her acting career started in 1980 with a child role in a British production “The Blood of Hussein”, her regular acting stint commenced, as it normally does in Pakistan, through her roles in Television dramas, 3 years later. This allowed her to gain name and fame as an accomplished actress. She liked this genre and was also liked by her fans in TV dramas, with over 40 appearances against her name, spanning across 31 years and all major TV channels. Her most notable dramas were “Ishq ke Inteha”;  “Meri Zaat” and “Zindagi Gulzaar Hai”.

Her appearances in mainstream films as well as the lighter genre of TV serials has not been as voluminous as that in TV dramas, exposing perhaps her liking for the medium of drama. Rather, she was keener to try out her hand in film direction, starting off with “Intehaan” in 1999, on a theme dealing with the controversial social issue of marital rape. Even in Pakistan’s conservative environment, the film was critically acclaimed. However, after 4 films in some of which she acted also, she settled back to her favorite genre of TV dramas, where she is making her presence even now.

She graduated from the Karachi Government College of Commerce and Economics. She is married to Usman Peerzada, a well-known actor in the industry, and has two daughters, Anum and Amal Peerzada. She changed her name from Samina Butt to Samina Peerzada after marrying the actor. Samina made her film debut in 1980, playing Lisa in the film The Blood of Hussain. She has worked in many films over the years like Shaadi Mere Shohar ki ( 1986), Mukhra (1988), Bazar-e-Husn (1988), Bulandi (1990), Nazdeekiyan (1991), Pabandi (1992), Khwahish (1993), Zar Gul (1997), and The Valley (2017). She has also performed in theatrical productions, most notable of which are Raaz-o-Niaz and A Doll House.

Asma Abbas is one among the few talented serial actresses in Pakistan. She hails from a legendary family. Asma is the daughter of Ahmed Bashir and Mehmooda Bashir. Mehreen Raheel is a Pakistan model cum actor. She is the daughter of Simmi Raheel and sister of Danyal Raheel. Mehreen is also the managing director of her home company R Visions. She was born on 8 February 1981 in Lahore Pakistan.

Mehreen appeared in number of TV shows and films. She start her career in 2007 with TV commercial ICI. After that she had been the model of many TV ads like Pantene, Lipton Tea, Head n Sholder, Sooper Biscuits, UFone and PTCL. 

Mehreen started her acting career with a minor role in Ajnabee Rastey. Then she appeared in Gardish, Kothi no 156, Kabhi Aye Na Judai, Adha Din or Puri Raat, Ashk and so on. For the film Kabhi Aye Na Judai she was nominated for Lux Best Actress Award. Her role in the film is of a bold girl who never fear of boys and wants to do whatever a boy can do.

In 2010, she appeared in Indo-Pak movie Virsa. She was opposite to Bollywood actor and Congress politician Raj Babbar’s son Arya Babbar. Thefilm received average review from the viewers. 

In 2011, she played a role in the daily drama show ‘Ashk’. The main characters of the serial was played by Fawad Ali Khan and Resham. The name of their characters were Rohail Hayad and Mehru. Mehreen played the role of Rohail sister. The show was produced by Abdullah Kahdwani and directed by Sarmad Sultan Khusat.

Mehreen is also a social activist. She traveled to many countries for her NGO. Her NGO works for the education of poor children. She visited India in 2011 to raise the funds for the empowerment of the children through education and hygiene.

In 2009, Mehreen married to famous Pakistani director Atif Azhar Malik.

Haissam Hussain is a Pakistani television and film director. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan. He is known for his work in Noor Pur Ki Rani (2009), Durr-e- Shahwar(2012), and Dastaan (2010). He directed the Taming of the Shrew in 2012. Daniyal Raheel is a Pakistani director, producer, and actor. He was born on 5 Jan 1983 in Lahore, Pakistan. Daniyal’s mother, Seemi Raheel, is a veteran actress, and his sister Mehreen Raheel is also an actress. He pursued graduation in Film, Theatre, and Television from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. His acting career started with a PTV drama. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and reportedly acting since 2010, and he has also been an ace model. He has earned the International Film Festival award as Best Actor for ‘Feel the Reel.’ He has appeared in Dastaan, Dekho Chaand Aaya, Naik Parveen, Bilqees Kaur, Yeh Chahatein Yeh Shiddatein, Aik Aur Sitam Hai and Aik Larki Aam Si.

Khayyam Sarhadi is a well-known Urdu film and television actor who worked on over 200 stage plays and about 300 television shows. Khayyam Sarhadi was born to Zia Sarhadi, Pakistani screenwriter and director, and Zahira Ghazvani, also a writer, on the 12th June 1948 in Bombay, India. He moved to Pakistan in 1956. He is the grandson of the British Indian musician Rafiq Ghaznavi and his niece Zhalay Sarhadi is also an actress. Hailing from a film family, Khayyam Sarhadi wanted to make acting his profession even though his father wanted him to become a doctor. After much persuasion, he got approval from his family to make a living out of acting.

Qavi Khan aka Mohammad Qavi Khan is a Pakistani movies and TV star, a radio artist and director as well. He was born on 13 Nov, 1932 in Lahore, Pakistan. He married in year 1968 and has four children all settled abroad but he didn’t leave his motherland. He started his career in 1960s at the age of five from Radio Pakistan and then after getting fame he shifted to PTC. He was one of the primary actors of PTV. He started his film actor journey in 1965 and has been part of 200 films. Affan Waheed is a Pakistani model/actor/RJ, who shot to fame with his role as Musaf in ‘Aik Pal’ (2014), and also his works in serials like ‘Ab Nai Ho Ghi’ (2015), ‘Mausam’, ‘Izzat’, ‘Sabki Ladli Laraib’, ‘Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam’, etc. The actor, who was born on 29 th September 1984 comes from the city of Lahore.

Ahsan Khan is a Pakistani actor born on 9th October, 1981. His journey into the world of acting started in 1998 as he debuted in the movie ‘Nikah’ , then went on to act in movies like ‘Ghar Kab Aao Gay’, ‘Dil Mera Dharkan Teri’.
