Sonalika Joshi was born on 31 December 1969 to a Hindu Family. She was raised in Mumbai and resides there only .

Sonalika is famous for her role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which is the longest running television Sitcom in Indian Television. The drama first aired on 28 July 2008 and is running till date. The story revolves around Gokuldham Co-Operative Housing Society in Mumbai which is a heterogeneous society consisting families from many religions like Sikhs, Jains, Gujarati, and Punjabi etc.  She plays character of 'Madhavi Bhide'. She is the wife of Aatmaram Bhide who is a tuition teacher running a middle class life. Bhide’s are a Marathi family. To support her family she runs a small business of pickles and papads which she runs from her home itself and delivers to their customer. Her character in the serial is shown very simple. All the families share love and unity and treat their society as mini India and worship each god and celebrate each festival.

Nayantara Bhatkal is a Hindi music composer. Apart from being a composer, she is a singer as well as a songwriter. She freelanced for a couple of newspapers during her college days. She wanted to become an anthropologist. She, later on, pursued a law degree and worked at a law firm. After working in a law firm, she, later on, realized her passion for music.

Suhas Joshi was born on 12th July 1947 in the West Thane, Maharashtra. She is a popular actress of the Marathi film industry, and she is also called upon by the name of Suhasini Joshi. She got married to Sibhash Joshi, and she also acted in Bollywood movies. She acted in Television serials as well, and she gained a lot of fan followers. She got immense interest in becoming an actress, which took place when she did her college.

Spruha Joshi is an Indian actress, who works predominantly in Marathi films. She has appeared in many theatre plays and is a famous figure in Marathi television world as well. Apart from acting, Spruha is enthusiastic about composing poems and writing lyrics for Marathi movies and albums.

Umesh Kamat is a Marathi actor as well as a model. He has done a number of regional television series and movies. Umesh was born on 12 December 1978. His mother worked in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He lived in Santacruz (West) in RBI Colony for about 20 years. He did his schooling and post-graduation in Mumbai. He then decided to take up acting as a profession.

Ajit Kelkar is an Indian Actor, popularly recognized for the films Poochho Mere Dil Se (2004), Tumhari Sulu (2017) and City of Dreams (2019). He is also a theater artist and has acted in TV Commercials. Apart from the Bollywood films, he has also contributed his acting journey in Marathi Films.

Santosh Juvekar is a Marathi stage, television and film actor. He has also appeared in many Hindi films. Santosh Juvekar started his professional acting career in the year of 2004 by making the appearance in the play ‘Aani Makarand Rajadhyaksha’ in the Marathi language; he portrayed the character of Naren Deshmukh in the play which was directed by Dilip Kolhatkar; the play also starred Vikram Gokhale. Santosh made his debut in films through Rajiv Patil’s movie Blind Game in the year 2006. 

Vijay Chavan was a Television actor in the Indian Film Industry. He was born on 2 May 1955. He did his graduation from D.G Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai. Vijay Chavan entered the world of Theatre through inter-drama competitions. He made his theatre debut with the Marathi play TurTur. He was best known for portraying the role of women named Mavashi in the Marathi stage drama “Moruchi Mavashi,” written by Pralhad Keshav Atre.

Vijay Kadam is an Indian actor who works primarily in the Marathi film industry. Son of the famous music composer Ram Kadam, Vijay Kadam is an actor who made his debut in the Marathi movie Amhi Doghe Raja Rani, in the year 1986, and then continued to rise in popularity with his next film Anandi Anand in 1987. 

Kishore Pradhan was an Indian actor who predominately worked in Marathi and Hindi film industry. He was born on 1st November 1932 to a liberal Hindu family who supported his journey for his love of art throughout. Their support allowed him to take up acting right from his school days. As a step forward, he started working as a child artist in plays and radio. While he was pursuing M.A in economics from Morris College in Nagpur, he started theatre.

There have been a few cases in the entertainment world where promising careers have been cut short by the cruel hands of death. So was the case of the predominantly Marathi actor Anand Abhyankar, when he met with a fatal car accident while returning to Mumbai, along with fellow actor Akshay Pendse. Earlier in life, following the Marathi tradition, he had started off with a promising theatre career, while he was studying in Pune, where he had shifted from his home town Nagpur.

As he joined more and more theatre groups, his name spread far and wide in the Marathi theatre world, his first commercial play being a comedy. Incidentally one of his co stars in this play happened to be Mohan Joshi who also became famous in Hindi films and TV serials. Anand’s very first play went on to run for over 1000 shows, establishing him firmly on the Marathi stage. 

Moving forward in his stage career, Abhyankar got the opportunity to feature in one more record breaking Marathi play, “Aai Retire Hotey”. This play narrowly missed the 1000 shows mark. With Anand’s name spreading across the state, it did not take much time for him to get roles in Marathi films as well. 

However, it was Mahesh Manjrekar who brought him into the world of Hindi films, through two of his own directorial ventures, “Vaastav” (1999) and “Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain” (2000), at the time Abhyankar had become a well known name in Marathi cinema, known for his acting abilities. Anand crossed over to Marathi TV in a big way only much later in 2009 after a solitary performance in Doordarshan many years earlier. The TV performance that hogged the limelight was his role in “Asambhav” (2009), portraying the role of an 85 year old Parkinson’s disease afflicted person with his trembling mannerisms looking almost lifelike.

Although from his very first stage appearance Anand had a penchant for comic themes, he went on to prove through his variety of roles spread across theatre, movies and serials that he was a multi talented actor, and perhaps his best roles that would have come after further maturity was forever lost for his fans, due to his untimely an unfortunate death.

Jayant Savarkar is an Indian artiste who acts in the Marathi theatre, the Marathi film industry and the Hindi film industry. He was born in 1936. In an acting career spanning more than six decades, he has done more than sixty Marathi films and thirty Hindi movies. Jayant has daughters named Suparna Nakashe and Sushama Savarkar Jaog, and a son named Sandip Joshi.

Vikram Gokhale is one of the very promising actors in the television and Bollywood industry. He is born on the 14th of November, 1945. He is also popular for stage acting. He is known for his significant contribution to the Marathi and Hindi films. Chandrakanth Gokhale is his father. He too is a theatre artist and is known for his contribution to the Marathi Theater. He was born in Pune, but is currently settled in Mumbai and works from there.

One of the significant roles on the television very recently is that of Dr. Kamal Chopra in the serial Sanjivani that was aired on Star Plus in 2002, and continued till 2005. Sanjeevani was based on the lives of doctors and the bond between a doctor and a patient. Vikram Gokahale played the role of the filthy rich doctor, Dr.Chopra, who was also the trustee of the hospital- Sanjeevani.

Recently in movies he has been seen in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Bhool Bhulaiya. In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, he plays the role of a singer who desires his daughter to follow the culture and traditions of his family and hence forbids her to marry his foreigner student, Sameer that was played by Salman Khan. Bhool Bhulaiya is a psychological thriller, based on multiple personality disorder, where he plays the guru to the genius psychiatrist and helps save the life of a patient affected by the same disease.

On 24th November 2022, Vikram Gokhale was admitted to a private hospital in Pune for various health issues. His health deteriorated and he died at the hospital on 26th November 2022.

Suresh Ishwar Wadkar is a well-known playback singer. He sings in Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Konkani too. He has sung some devotional songs in many Indian languages. Though groomed for Indian classical music, He participated in the Sur-Singer competition in 1976 despite being a trained singer in Indian Classical Music. He not only did win the competition but also was offered the song,”Seene Mein Jalan” from one of the judges and music composers, Jaidev. He was recommended to Laxmikant-Pyarelal by Lata Mangeshkar as she was extremely impressed with him.

Arun Nalawade is an Indian Marathi film and theatre actor, producer and director, who earned fame and success after he acted and co-produced the Marathi film, Shwaas which was released in year 2004. The film is the official entry of India to the Oscar Awards 2004 and it received the 6th place position in the 77th Academy Award for being the Best Foreign Language Film at that time. The film also received the National Award for Best Film in year 2004. Prior to this, Shwaas have faced financial issues in showcasing and promoting the film at the Oscars. Luckily, many people contribute to make it to the Oscars including the legendary, Amitabh Bachchan and Marathi cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. Students from the Jogeshwari create lamps and sell them to contribute to the film.

In 2005, he bagged the role of Suryakant Ghodake in the movie, Kaydyacha Bola. Arun has done films like Divasen Divas, Shan and Chasme Bahaddar in 2006. He also appeared in the short film, Pailteer which was shot in Toronto, Canada and was starred as Havaldar Bajrang Baija Kaka Desai in Hee Porgi Kunachi. In year 2007, Arun directed the Marathi film, Shri Siddhivinayak Mahima. He essayed a fatherly role in the Marathi film, Gojiri and bagged the role of Lord Pandurang in ‘Arre… Devaa!’ in year 2007. In 2011, he was also seen in the film, Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap. He played a supporting role in the Marathi film, Spandan in 2012. Arun was also cast in the Marathi film, Mala Anna Vhaychay in 2013, where he played the role of Anna Hazare, a anti-corruption activist in India. He was also seen in Gajendra Ahire’s Anumati which stars Vikram Gokhale and Neena Kulkarni in the same year. He bags the role of a cycle Rikshawala in Sanjiv Kolte’s Marathi film, Taani; a story about a family who struggles so their daughter can achieve her dreams in 2013. This year, he donned the role of Antookaka in another Marathi film, Vees Mhanje Vees. He also appeared as Annasaheb Gunthe Patil, a local politician who owns a college in the film, Campus Katta. Arun is also part of Vidnyan Siddhi Films’ Sangharsh, where he essayed the role of Gurav Kaka.

Arun appeared as Janak Jadeja/Dadu in the family show, Zindagi Kahe – Smile Please which was aired on Life OK in 2011. He also done an episodic in Star Plus’ Lakhon Mein Ek in year 2012; in a story that depicts the life of a victim of domestic violence.
