Raju Aur Udantashtari was a science fiction serial. It was aired on Doordarshan. In this series, the main protagonist is Raju. Raju was a bubby child of around ten years. One day, he couldn't sleep in his afternoon nap time. He saw a UFO outside the window. He rushed inside to tell his mother. When his mother heard him, she thought it would be just a child's imagination. When he kept repeating that to her, she wondered if someone had done witchcraft on him. She didn't pay any attention to him. Raju wanted to know more about that flying Car, which was originally a UFO. His curiosity got the best of him. He saw all the aliens coming out of the UFO. He was amazed by these fantasizing creatures.

He also witnessed their return. Unfortunately, one alien was left behind. Raju befriended him by his charming personality and cute face. Raju knew that no one would believe him. He was an innocent soul. Some of his friends were nice to him. Some of them were not. This series was an actual depiction of childhood with some fantasy spice in it. Movies like 'Koi Mil Gya' and 'PK' were also based on similar concepts. Raju had a device through which he could call the spaceship whenever he wanted to meet them. This device was also capable of stopping time. In a few episodes, this device was shown to have the power to stimulate rain.
