Plot

Siva, Das and Maran are friends. They are petty thieves. Once they looted a petrol bunk but escaped from getting caught. Das gets married to Sumathi. Although Sumathi pleaded with him to leave the crooked way of earning money, he couldn’t quit his habit of robbing and continues with his friends. But, for one such robbery, he gets caught and lands in jail. After getting released from prison, he changes his mind and decides to live a normal life. When he tells this to his friends, they convince him and asks him to quit it after one final robbery. What happens next? Were they get caught? What happened to Sumathi? The answers form the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Rasu and Sandeep had done a wonderful job. Aparna is good at emoting in emotional scenes. Her natural performance is the biggest asset to the family. Easan had also done well in the emotional scenes.

Analysis

Although we have seen a lot of movies of this kind, this is interesting and also a bit different. Almost all the characters are penned well and the right stars are placed, except that of the villain. His performance is neat. But, some more gripping incidents would have satisfied his role. The director has done a decent job in directing as well as acting. It doesn’t seem to be his first film and he had done his best to register his impression in the industry. The director has taken time to establish the cold war between the gangsters. Some of the scenes are left out halfway including that of the romance track between the second leads.

Verdict

Theethum Nandrum has both pluses and minuses. If we concentrate on the screenplay that is engaging much along with the performance of the artists, the film is definitely watch-worthy!
