Plot

Chandini is a doctor and she visits a village. She couldn’t see any petty shops there. Instead, she witnesses, a corporate company door-delivers products. She comes to know that they had threatened the people not to run any shops in the village. If anyone is against them, those corporate people murder them. Chandini starts a protest against the corporate. Did she get support from the people? What happens to Chandini? Did she succeed in her attempt? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Samuthirakani plays a cameo role and impresses the audiences. Chandini performs well in the given role. Varsha, Veera, Rajendran and Thirumurugan had done their job, as requested.

Analysis

Although the plot is different and interesting, it is not executed well. The idea of the director is good and he tries to bring out the reason why the small shops extinct. The dialogues by Samuthirakani and Chandini are appreciable. The comedy scenes are not much impressive. Characterization is not impressive. Except for a couple of characters, the rest looks half-baked. The cinematography by Arul and Sreenivas is excellent. Mariya Manohar’s songs with the words by Na Muthukumar are good.

Verdict

Although Pettikadai comes with a good concept, the execution lacks expertise. The makers tried to promote the film with Samuthirkani’s popularity. Yet, it didn’t work out. If you have no movies to watch, then you can try this!
