Plot

Shakti is a fraudster, who sells fake certificates, to run his life. Sathyamoorthy is running an educational institution to fulfill the dreams of the kids. He trains them in the fields, which they love to work. Sathyamoorthy started this institution by robbing the wealthy people, to provide free education to the needy. Mahadev, a crooked businessman, doesn’t like the ideas of Sathyamoorthy and decides to close his chapter. What is the part of Shakti in this? Did Mahadev destroy Sathyamoorthy’s institution? Watch the film to know the rest.

Star Performance

Arjun is excellent as usual and Siva did his best as an action hero. Kalyani has got a decent debut in Tamil with this flick. Abhay Deol is good as a menacing villain and his lip-sync is perfect. We could spot him in many films in the future.

Analysis

Speaking about the plot, it is not a new script to Tamil, but the modified version of Arjun’s Gentleman and Ramana. Sathyamoorthy's character robs the rich to educate the poor and this is the same in the case of Gentleman’s Kicha, which was also by the Action King. Although the script and narration are good, certain things like Shakti’s transition from a fraudster to a superhero is not strongly told. The movie also has a slight impact from “ Jiiva Born on 4th January 1982 Jiiva is one of the young >> Read More... ” starrer Mugamoodi. Although we find the traces of a few films in Hero, Mithran’s racy screenplay makes us forget all those. The cinematography and the BGM are fantastic.

Verdict

Hero is not only the film of Sivakarthikeyan but Arjun and Abhay. All of them stand unique in their way and impress the audience. If the director had shown Siva’s role with some more gripping incidents, it would have been better. However, it is an excellent film to watch this weekend!
